Situated on 706 square metres in Graceville, a quiet suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, this unconventional home inspires a perpetual holiday feeling. The creative dwelling sprawls over three floors and features graffiti artwork and an impressive saltwater pool.

Cleverly designed to incorporate interesting angles, soaring voids and artistic features, these abundant living spaces are both practical and visually engaging. There are four bedrooms positioned over two levels, offering space and privacy to accommodate the growing family“. An array of different textures and finishes makes each interior dynamic and highly inviting, while extensive use of windows maximizes the visual connection with the nearby river and lush green surroundings.

Detached Single Storey House Infused with Golden Rays of Light

House and meadows Detached Single Storey House Infused with Golden Rays of Light House B is a detached single storey house infused with golden rays of light. Designed by ch+qs arquitectos in Berrocal, Segovia, Spain, the dwelling inspires warmth and serenity. The peaceful scenic meadow was bought 15 years ago and after 12 years of yellow contemplation, the owners decided to build a refuge, a place for the heart, that urges for contemplation and quiet time of reflection. A simple wooden structure, with two views, east and west, on this piece of heaven, seemed a pretty good idea. A visual poetry with accents of yellow. That’s what you call this place. Here, time stops for a while, to contemplate life itself: harvest, flowers, ash, lichens, brambles. A décor like no other.

Rustic landscape Detached Single Storey House Infused with Golden Rays of LightLay back and enjoy the spectacle of simple and pristine life. “This is a humanized landscape of meadows, walls, ash, streams, a small-scale landscape, minimal, almost domestic, and where absolutely everything has yellow accents.” The interior abounds with wooden features, meant to be useful not trendy. Fireplace, located in the living area, adds a sense of coziness. Design is neat and simple and it reflects a simple lifestyle.

Inspiring Chinese Home Integrating a Mature Tree: Tea House

architecture Tea House Inspiring Chinese Home Integrating a Mature Tree: Tea HouseArchi-Union Architects completed the design and development of Tea House, an inspiring Chinese home built in the backyard of the studio’s offices in Shanghai. The aim of the project was to embody harmony by integrating enclosure and openness, delightful living spaces and logical construction. A “house-of-the-future” look is discharged by the minimalist concrete and glass exterior, the quadrilateral shape as well as the mature tree embedded in the design.
design Tea House Inspiring Chinese Home Integrating a Mature Tree: Tea HouseThe Tea House is divided in three parts: “A covered public area is formed towards the open space with the pool, with an enclosed tea house at ground level and library on the first floor where a small triangular balcony extends around the existing tree“. Each interior has a well defined personality, with geometry playing an essential role. Concrete walls, ceilings and floors add up to the spirituality of the place and massive organic shapes seem to detach themselves from the walls, with stunning visual effects.
