| Display Your Bike on the Wall as if it Were a Precious Trophy Posted: 12 Apr 2011 04:42 AM PDT We know most of you have a passion for bicycles. We are also aware of how much these two -wheels light vehicles mean to you and how sometimes you feel that they deserves better than being stuck in the garage all day long. 718 Bedford Ave Bike Rack is an ingenious method of placing your bike where it belongs: up on the wall, as if it were a work of art or a precious trophy. Because in some ways, it is both. This unique “bike rack” has a simple and slender design, easy to integrate in a large variety of unconventional decors with a well defined personality. The design is custom made in order to fit your bicycle shape and is produced from birch ply and veneer. The only problem with this incredible support is its steamy price (the product is said to cost a little over $400). But the idea is truly inspiring, don’t you agree?

| Contemporary Energy Efficient Laneway Home in Vancouver Posted: 12 Apr 2011 03:35 AM PDT The Mendoza Lane House was designed by Lanefab after the authorities in Vancouver encouraged owners to replace their garages with laneway houses in order to increase people density in certain neighborhoods. According to the architects, “the Mendoza Lane House is 710sf with combined living/dining/kitchen upstairs along with a balcony. It's built on a standard 33′x122′ lot and has the same footprint as the garage it replaced. The project was built with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) a prefab system that allow us to create buildings that are 2x as energy efficient as typical new home in Vancouver. The windows are triple glazed, and most of the materials for the building were manufactured locally.” We are interested in knowing what you think of this home’s interiors- appealing and interesting or too plain for your tastes? | Hand Carved Shelving Unit: ‘Metamorphosis’ by Sebastian Errazuriz Posted: 12 Apr 2011 02:21 AM PDT Artist Sebastian Errazuriz came up with an interesting idea for a bookshelf. Seen on Designboom, ‘Metamorphosis’ is a hand carved furniture piece, made from baltic birch plywood and resembles a giant tree branch with many ramifications. Suited for books and magazines, the unusual shelving unit can also be used for storing various objects; it is all up to the creativity of the owner. Sebastian Errazuriz created ‘Metamorphosis’ in order to complete the collection which will be exhibited at the Cristina Grajales Gallery in New York. The name of the event held at the gallery is called ‘Beautiful Premonitions’ and will be a chance for the designer to showcase his original works. Check out the photos below for an idea of how this shelving unit built step by step. Ready for more amazing design ideas? Check below !

Although, the reality is, if you spring clean your home now, you will have more time to enjoy the outdoors and have a healthy conscious about your interiors at the same time! Spring cleaning is a chore that many look forward to and many do not. The time it takes to clean is usually at the top of the list of why spring cleaning feels like a burden rather than a reward. Spring cleaning doesn't have to be time consuming and once broken up among family members and days, the entire house won't seem as daunting as once thought. A cleaning service can get your home to a higher level of clean that you could maintain afterwards. | Levitating Furniture: Floating Sofa by Philippe Nigro Posted: 11 Apr 2011 08:35 AM PDT Philippe Nigro designed an interesting furniture piece for a Milano based company called Comforty. Found on Mocoloco, this unusual cushioned floating sofa was suspended by a steel tube exo-skeleton frame for an intriguing visual effect. Resembling a giant spider web, the frame system is both modern looking and appealing, but not so practical in a contemporary home, due to the enormous space it occupies. We are not aware if the sofa also acts like a swing, implying one can rest in it like in a giant hammock. Simple and elegant, the black sofa inevitably becomes the focal point of the original installation and seems to insidiously invite users to rest on it. All in all, the concept is quite interesting and definitely worth sharing. Perhaps it could even become practical, if applied to smaller objects such as chairs or small swings.
