Modern Bright Plastic Furniture For Indoors And Outdoors

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 11:47 AM PDT

We all know that most of Karim Rashid's ideas become popular. This famous designer always manages to find out the most simple and genial solution. Now he has created this rotational-moulded chair for Italian furniture brand B-Line. Called Woopy, the hollow plastic chair is moulded in one piece, and can be used indoors and outdoors. An accompanying footstool, called Snoop, has two pockets reaching into its legs and can be stacked to form a bookshelf. Just simple plastic – bright colors, easy to clean, you can use it indoors and outdoors. One more genial creation of Karim Rashid, bravo!

A Sink Made Of Leather

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 08:47 AM PDT

What is that? A sink made of leather?! It's not, actually, this sink is made of copper. This sink is made by a California-based company Native Trails. The sink is manufactured of special copper, it's recycled copper from pipes and wirings which are melted down. The rest of the process is made by an artisan, so it's hand made. Such a sink would look great in any bathroom in neutral style or in a bachelor's bathroom. It's green as made of recycled materials and hand made, that's stylish. And do you like the design?

Apartment Designed In A Fusion Of Styles

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 05:46 AM PDT

This beautiful apartment in Barcelona was built in the 50s by Francesc Mitjans. It has been recently rebuilt by designers Patrizia Casarini and Monica Colominas from the design studio Dalla Polvere. The designers decided to leave some vintage details from that time but all the rest was structurally changed. I like the organic fusion of styles: traditional sofas in the living room with an African stool and an animal's skin on the floor, vintage table and modern chairs in the study, French-style armchairs and a rustic table in the dining room, exquisite lamps and fur in the bedroom. The apartment looks very harmonious, antique furniture and a collection of contemporary art adds warmth to the living space.
