Puzzling Optical Illusion Bookshelf with a Beautiful Minimalist Design Posted: 06 Mar 2011 05:25 AM PST Seen on LikeCool, his highly creative shelving system was designed by John Leung from ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and has a very intriguing appearance. According to the designer “the bookshelf looks cartoony and almost invisible but that’s not even the real illusion, the real mind bender is that there are what seems like 4 shelves on the left side but only 3 shelves on the right side”. We really like this feature, even though it could cause some misunderstandings when it comes to asking your girlfriend to “grab that CD on the 2nd row” for example. Simple, practical and quite stylish, the unit can serve as a storage device for small objects such as books and CDs. Be sure to check out the video at the end of the post for a general understanding of how this shelving unit can puzzle the mind.

Surprisingly Small Apartment in Paris with a Charming Red&White Interior Posted: 05 Mar 2011 08:01 AM PST For today we would like to showcase this charming small apartment located in Montmatre, Paris. Just one look at the photos below and one is surely to fall for its tasteful, captivating and alluring appearance. Designed by SWAN architects, this charming crib has no more than 25 square meters and consists of a single room, intelligently split into a bedroom and a living space. The panel beneath the two was initially an entire wall, but the architects decided to reduce it to its structure, creating a see-through unit of a great aesthetic effect. This also ensures a higher level of natural light throughout the day. The bathroom is conveniently “hidden” in the back wall of the apartment. The color palette is particularly eye-catching and is responsible for the mesmerizing contrast between the wooden floors and the furniture.
