Classic Eames Chair Reinvented and Diversified by Vitra Posted: 10 Sep 2010 08:25 AM PDT We’ve presented a few versions of the classic Eames chair on Freshome, but here is one that is said to “add comfort to culture” from Vitra. Originally made from fiberglass in 1950 by Charles and Ray Eames, this famous chair “suffered” a series of upgrades throughout the years. This new version is fully upholstered which makes the chair both aesthetic and comfy. Moreover, the designers of Vitra came up with 13 different colors for the Eames chair and four base options. This diversity is meant to respond to the various needs of the potential customer and his interior design palette. Do you enjoy the fact that this chair generated so many replicas, or do you think this takes away from the originality of the initial design?-via FreshBump
