Cloth Lounge by Jehs & Laub for Cassina Posted: 24 May 2010 08:03 AM PDT Called Cloth this minimalist armchair by the German designers Jehs & Laub is one of the novelties Cassina presented at the 'Milano Design Village' in Zona Tortona during this year's Salone del Mobile. With its visual linearity and soft and welcoming structure, this armchair is the epitome of extreme and deliberate simplicity. The internal supporting frame is made from glass-reinforced plastic and processed with original slits and ribbing that guarantee the comfort of the seat. The padding is made from polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The fabric or leather upholstery, combined with polyester wadding, is removable thanks to two lateral zips that give it an original finish. The covers are available in plain or two-tone colours. |
Combining a Coat Hanger with a Chair : Practical or Not ? Posted: 24 May 2010 06:58 AM PDT Reindee chair is a funny multifunctional design from Brazilian Studio Baita Design based in Rio de Janeiro and run by Helena Bueno and Heinz Müller. For me this design it’s funny, but for some of you this might be a very practical idea. These multi-functional pieces of furniture come in a range of heights and colors, with the taller option including the hooks for hanging hats, coats, umbrellas, purses, etc. Would you put something like this in your entry hall ? – Via – Chictip |
House in the Greek Countryside by Tectus Design Posted: 24 May 2010 06:20 AM PDT The guys from Tectus Design sent us another project, after we published another project from their portfolio some time ago ( Modern Apartment in Heraklion, Greece by Tectus Design Interiors ). This time they send us a two level house located somewhere in the greek countryside. At the ground floor we can see the dining room, the lounge, the kitchen as separate room and a toilet for visitors. On the second floor there are two youth bedrooms, a master bedroom with its own toilet, an office room and the main bathroom. The place was formed after renovation by the owners and the interior designer with respect to the architecture of the building and attention to detail. As you can see from these pictures you can find many styles in this house : neoclassical, modern and art-deco. Also they mixed materials such as wood, iroko, luxurious fabrics, wallpapers, antique furniture and impressive chandeliers. As owners are art collectors, wonderful paintings of various artists adorn the walls of the house. Finally, the exterior of the house has been compiled with care, and the lighting highlights the garden planting and investment in stone. |
Small Bathroom Solution : Walk-in BathTub by MAXX Professional Posted: 24 May 2010 05:31 AM PDT This walk-in bathtub by MAXX Professional is a really interesting idea especially if you have a small bathroom. It features a safety grab rails, slip resistant floor, and chrome waste with chrome overflow. A contoured seat with an elevated back rest could make your bathing very comfortable and relaxing even in such small bathtub. Besides, the bathtub could be complemented with a whirlpool heater, a chromotherapy light system, and a water heater. With all these features, the walk-in bathtub is a very cool 1.4 m (55-inch) long solution for small bathrooms. Finally maybe most of you focused on how this small wal-in bathtub looks, but you’ve noticed that interesting tile design from the background ? |
14 Indoor Pools for a Delightful Swimming Experience Posted: 24 May 2010 03:05 AM PDT Not too long ago, we had a post on Freshome entitled “21 Amazing Pool Ideas For Contemporary Houses”. It was a very enchanting collection of swimming pools, with an exquisite design and an original approach. Today’s set is a complementary treat, featuring fabulous looking pools, only this time they are located within the perimeter of the residence. Each indoor pool in the pictures below has its own personality and can be easily differentiated from the rest. Some of the interiors they are located in are enriched with elegant furniture items and interesting decorative elements. From our point of view, they all look incredible, which is why we would like to challenge you to pick your favorite. |
Extreme Designing: Blackbox Gaming Club in Timisoara, Romania Posted: 24 May 2010 02:12 AM PDT Freshome is proud to present an unusual project design meant to cheer up our readers and perhaps bring the spirit of the weekend closer. Blackbox is a gaming club located in Timisoara, Romania, in one of the city’s major commercial centers, and the city from where people behind Freshome are located . Its original design comes from Parasite Studio, a Romanian architecture firm. The biggest challenge of the location was having to deal with unwanted metal frames which the team eventually integrated in the overall design. Blackbox is a futuristic place with a highly original decor, where lighting has a major role and creates games of its own. Here is some interesting information concerning the name of the project: “The design proposal started from generating a completely black box, as well as a shape and as a concept, an abstract space that doesn't breathe towards the outside world but keeps locked within the memory of events. Therefore the existing windows become showcases for exhibiting and communicating towards the outside, a sort of dynamic information screens. In the first design concepts we tried to cover and hide the existing structure, then tried to ignore it but came to realize that the best solution is to integrate the structure within the general interior design and to multiply it as a deformed projected image on the perimeter walls.”- Parasite Studio
