The Legato cupboards and cabinets envisioned by Claesson Koivisto Rune have a soft and friendly personality paired with an iconic appearance. The most striking design feature of this project is the shape of the doors. They are neither square nor round and they are non-geometrical. Positioned next to each other, in repetition, they present a range of eye-catching and memorable combinations.

The shape of the doors reminds us of how musical notes are drawn. In music performance and notation, legato (Italian for “tied together”) indicates that musical notes are played or sung smoothly and connected. That is, the player transitions from note to note with no intervening silence. It’s difficult to decide whether to choose a monochromatic version of the project, or go with an intense color mix. Located in Saltsjö-Boo, just 10 km away from downtown Stockholm in Sweden, this modern villa seen on Skeppsholmen seems to have been designed for a family who loves to be comfortable and in close connection to the outdoors. Form meets function in the perfect interplay, opening towards views of the nearby lake. A well-equipped kitchen in the open living area allows inhabitants to offer their guests more than just social interaction.

Suspended in the middle of this interactive space, a wood-burning stove warms up the interiors in days when the weather does not permit opening the large sliding doors. Beyond this comfortable social area, the deck opens with a surprisingly simple invitation to enjoy the lowered seating deck. The upper level shelters three bedrooms, an open TV room and a spacious bathroom with double showers and a bathtub. The master bedroom has easy access to a large terrace gathering lovely views of the surroundings. There is also a small separate guest apartment, a garage and storage building, making the property perfect for a family living near the city.

We were given a chance to try out the Meze 11 Deco earphones, the first item in the Deco series and the experience was positive, in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.
The most striking feature of the headphones is their sophisticated look inspiring an instant connection with the user. The handcrafted beech wood enclosure is said to reproduce a crisp but warm, natural sound. A white and flexible non-tangle cord with a stylish microphone makes this an elegant accessory for your iPhone, Android, iPod, MP3, MP4, CD, DVD, MD and PSP.

One of the features we appreciate is that the earphones come with three sizes of soft silicone ear-buds, making it easy for the user to find the perfect fit. An EVA stylish case is also included in the package, ensuring that the product will not be damaged on the road. From what we’ve experienced, the sound quality is excellent and the sound isolation very good, as long as you chose the right set of ear-buds.
