Eclectic and playful interior Eclectic Apartment Inspiring Playfulness and Fun in Los AngelesLos Angeles is a city of contrasts, youthfulness and free spirits. To capture the essence of this vibrant city, Belgian designer, Maxime Jacquet, created this astounding interior. Jacquet’s particularity consists in fusing high-fashion in all its work. This apartment is no exception. Fashion icons, celebrity portraits, exquisite artwork, textures, colours, shapes and forms – they all merge into one. The result? An eclectic bursting-with-colour living space. The coolest thing about it, except the décor, of course, which is totally awesome and “explosive”, is the view. Located on the nineteenth floor, the flat overlooks downtown L.A.

Colours and beautiful chaos Eclectic Apartment Inspiring Playfulness and Fun in Los Angeles The beautiful “mess” created by the Belgian designer is… something else! From neon signs to vintage furniture, rugs made of animal skin and Hello Kitty plushies – every element of décor was carefully chosen to create this unique, overwhelming setting. Despite encountering the most unexpected design details, the interior exhales a positive vibe. The peculiar thing about it is that it doesn’t really creates the feeling of a home, but that of a cool and exclusive lounge bar. Embedding an intriguing mix of ancient and new, this project brings character and originality indoors and addresses home owners who seek value avidly.

Kauri tabletops are finished only with natural TUNG Oil, a drying oil obtained by pressing the seed from the nut of the tung tree. The cost for this special table project? €5800. The house was built by studio RoccoVidal P + W, harmonically blending modern features with a traditional alpine-inspired style. Envisioned as a safe, secluded weekend haven encompassed by large expanses of green, it’s the place where a family of three generations meets to enjoy the beautiful lake and landscaping. The picturesque surroundings inspire calmness, offering an alternative to the hectic urban lifestyle proposed by the big cities.

The house itself is defined by two volumes. The lower volume is entirely made of stone, serving also as support for the minimalist rectangular-shaped volume (made of concrete and wood), placed on top. The ground floor accommodates an open plan living room, the kitchen, dinning room and several terraces and outdoor spaces – a relaxed environment that has the power to influence mood in a positive way. The upper floor house the more private areas, the bedrooms.
