This striking looking A-Frame Residence is the result of an architecture conversion delivered by New York City-based studio Bromley Caldari Architects. The designers completely renovated the interiors of a 1960s beach home on Fire Island, turning it into a sleek hideout. With a spiral staircase splitting down the middle, four dark and cramped bedrooms, a leaky roof, and a cracked pile foundation, the original building required serious interventions.
By adding a new staircase, the layout was positively transformed and functionality took over he entire abode: “On the main level, a double-height living/dining room stretches the length of the window-clad north façade. The open kitchen and house utilities run along the south side. The master bedroom suite features full-height glass sliding doors that take advantage of the view. Although the doors stay mostly open, when guests are present and privacy is required, the sliding glass doors fog up at the flick of a switch.” Check out the incredible details showcased in the photos below and tell us what you think! Modern Interplay of Indoor and Outdoor Living Spaces: S House in Lima

S House by Domenack Arquitectos can be described as a modern interplay of indoor and outdoor living spaces. Located in Lima, Peru, this contemporary 500 square meter retreat is structured on three levels, each more spectacular than the next. According to the project developers, the residence is the result of dealing with three important variables: “satisfying the functional needs of the family, adapting the design to a difficult sloping topography without resorting to complicate and expensive structures, and capturing the views towards a golf course despite the fact that the plot is not adjacent to it.”

The main garden, pool and social areas are located in the first level, while the private areas are located in the second and third levels. Each interior opens up through floor-to-ceiling windows to the magical landscape outdoors. Break-Out and Dining Space in Manchester With Industrial Influences

The Hub is a break-out and dining space developed by Opus 4 (a design and build interior fit-out company in Manchester, England) for NSG Environmental. NSG- a nuclear waste management specialist – wanted a social 'Hub,' an engaging, inspiring space where employees could dine, relax, socialize and hold informal inter-department meetings. The original area was a mezzanine floor used partially for warehouse storage but was largely redundant. The mezzanine floor had to be dismantled, modified and strengthened, then rebuilt in readiness for the fit-out works.

Opus 4's designers worked closely with NSG's project team to understand what they wanted from the space and how they would use it. An industrial look was agreed and this was reflected in the finishes. Digital print wall-covering with mixed brick finishes were used on feature walls and combined with Polyflor Expona stone effect luxury vinyl floor tiles and Desso Stripe carpet. High gloss flint grey kitchen units were specified with quality appliances and fittings to compliment the look. The furniture specification included high back acoustic sofas from Ocee Design, upholstered break-out seating and tables from Frovi, a 'tablet bar' for web access and library and TV areas with soft seating. Inspiring 15 Sqm Modular Artist’s Studio Ranking High in Functionality

How do you imagine the perfect workspace? Israeli architect Ranaan Stern designed and implemented a modular artist’s studio in Tel Aviv exhibiting clever storage solutions. The original looking apartment features 2 desks, 36 drawers, modular storage compartments and pegboard display walls. And if at some point the owners feel tired, they can just bring down the folding bed and come up with new ideas after a soothing nap.
Although the exterior seems not to reveal much on the contents of the drawers, everything is perfectly organized: “The artist creates and collects different kinds of art pieces, most are 2D but also some small sculptures, books and old materials. We needed different kinds of storage units, different sizes and different ways of keeping the new and old pieces“, explained Ranaan Stern. Moreover, each tool category is represented by a certain color, exposed only when one opens a drawer or any other storage unit. The closets and units are made of white birch, perfectly complementing the flooring, which is covered in bright birch tiles. [Photography is by Gidon Levin]
