Modern Residential Project With An Asymetric Roof: V-House

Designed by Dutch architects Gaaga, the contemporary V-House in Leiden, Netherlands, showcases an asymmetric design, beautifully integrated with the busy urban surroundings. The single family residence benefits from an interesting encouragement from the planning comity of the neighborhood: each owner can shape the architecture of the house as they see fit. This led to constructing a fascinating, iconic v-shaped roof for the V-House. The neighboring residences seem to be part of a modern display of architectural styles, so it only seems fair that the V-House differentiates itself. A white stucco facade makes the introductions to the interiors, where the inhabitants enjoy a nine by ten meter floor plan on two levels. Wooden ceiling and a wood staircase stand out once you enter the house, then the attention is canalized on the interesting floor plan. The first floor features a sitting room, the bedroom and bathroom, while the second L-shaped floor showcases the kitchen, living and dining spaces. So, after careful consideration of the information and photos, please feel free to let us know how many of you consider this residence a modern dream home.

The most popular Freshome post in August was a fascinating tropical island yacht project envisioned by the UK based company Yacht Island Designs. The floating tropical island will be made out of steel and will measure 90 meters in length, plenty of room to build a luscious and luxurious environment that would sail away in the sunset.

#2. Laranjeiras Residence was designed by Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados and is a fascinating 10,225 square foot summer retreat located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to the architects, wood was used as a way to protect it from the sea air and make it more familiar-looking amid the green Mata Atlântica. The designers don’t say anything about the stunning visual effect this approach had on the overall design, though.

#3. Stunning by design, the Armada House compresses a world of possibilities in its fascinating architecture. Created by award-winning Keith Baker Design, the residence located in Victoria, BC, Canada, displays an important feature of construction: the necessary relationship and collaboration between the designer and the client. The Canadian designer created a home where volumes intersect and shapes unite to form a specific design, dreamed by the owner and implemented by the architect.

#5. We've seen quite a few works of ingenious architecture, enough to state this is one of them. Keret House is a project envisioned by Jakub Szczęsny of Centrala, soon to be developed in a narrow void between the buildings on 22 Chłodna Street and 74 Żelazna Street in the district of Wola, Poland. Keret House is said to have an interior that will vary between 122 centimeters and 72 centimeters, making it an extremely narrow crib.

#6. Welcome to an apartment that inspires joyful living. Invaded by color, this place features so many beautiful details that we found it hard not to enjoy each and every photo in detail. Having a privileged location in the attic of a downtown building, this apartment in Madrid was organized and decorated to accommodate a couple in a bright, sophisticated and refreshing environment. The author of this excellent makeover was the architect Charlie Diaz, who opted for a loft that is both aesthetic and fun.

VDVT House was designed by Boetzkes | Helder and is located in  Arnhem, The Netherlands. The residence has a surprising exterior, displaying a rectangular, compact shape. The outer walls have a dark gray and black finish, making the building stand out. Another unusual detail is the expanding metal exterior. The “black box” features generous vertical windows which are exquisitely integrated in the overall design. Once inside, a potential visitor is welcomed by an elegant, minimalist design. The ground floor accommodates a living room with a sofa in the middle and stairs which seem to float towards the second level. The immaculate white walls are gently contrasted by the wooden floors, stairs and furniture. Complete harmony and good taste are the main “features” of this truly delightful home.
