Architect Pedro Useche’s Home : A Shelter for his Art

This is an architect’s home. Just as you would expect, it is fabulous right down to the story behind it. As a young architect, Pedro Useche learned to make furniture because he didn’t have money to buy it. His talent shaped his artistic expression and his residence represents his success. Each furniture piece in this residence is designed by the architect himself, adding character to the interiors. Located in Sao Paolo, Brasil, the residence owned by the Venezuelan architect Pedro Useche can be described as a versatile safe heaven. Each space seems to tell another story yet the whole floor plan feels like a guided tour through the inhabitant’s lifestyle. Its location in the up-the-hill sophisticated Morumbi neighbourhood gives the house an opportunity to offer beautiful panoramas. The three-storey residence gathers 1,000 square meters of private and entertaining spaces. A double-height living room offers plenty of space for the architect’s art collections and creates a bright and airy atmosphere. Solar energy panels are the eco-friendly feature every home needs and the luscious garden creates a sense of equilibrium.

Wood, Glass and Light Displayed in the Armada House

Armada House Wood, Glass and Light Displayed in the Armada House

Stunning by design, the Armada House compresses a world of possibilities in its fascinating architecture. Created by award-winning Keith Baker Design, the residence located in Victoria, BC, Canada, displays an important feature of construction: the necessary relationship and collaboration between the designer and the client. The Canadian designer created a home where volumes intersect and shapes unite to form a specific design, dreamed by the owner and implemented by the architect. Wood and glass seem to define interior and exterior spaces without effort. The interiors feature wood beams that accentuate the feeling of natural elements overdose. Large, open spaces form the kitchen, dining room and living space that appear to be part of a bright story of comfort. No space is left unused – all the walls have either windows that flood the interiors with light or design elements that strengthen the idea of relaxation and comfort. A huge skylight in the main bathroom ensures exceptional moments in the bathtub under the stars. Take a good look at this house, you might dream about it tonight.

Contemporary Brisbane Property 3 Contemporary Queensland Property Featuring Fantastic City Panoramas

Contemporary architecture and interior design fascinates through the creative use of materials, patterns and volumes. This next property in New Farm, Queensland, was recently sold by Judy Goodger, but it continues to offer inspiration for those looking for a push in the right direction. Besides having a strong character displayed on the facade and a stylish use of interior space, the residence features an enticing rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city lights. “Perfect for the inner city professional“, the house features 3 private bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Rich timber flooring and concrete insertions on all of the three levels of the house set the standard for a comfortable lifestyle. All furniture and furnishings were carefully chosen to express the house’s potential and invite us to be inspired by the use of light, colours and arrangements. The middle level shelters the “perfect for the budding chef” kitchen connected to the main living and dining area, where I can easily imagine myself enjoying the company of my friends and family. A garden and “an over-sized rippling fish pond spilling off the study nook” contribute to a relaxing atmosphere for working from home. Featuring a master suite with walk in robe, spacious bathroom and mood-inducing windows, “this home is designed to indulge“.

Eclectic Mallorca Country House Designed by Mestre Paco

Posted: 03 Aug 2011 09:54 AM PDT

Mallorca Country House Eclectic Mallorca Country House Designed by Mestre Paco In a place where summers are hot and bright and winters are mild and the Mediterranean Sea is close enough to feel the breeze on your skin, a beautiful house can only enhance the feelings of relaxation and contentment. The Mediterranean villa you can see in the photos was designed by Mestre Paco and it reveals the concept of living without borders in a natural, comfortable environment. The stone facade, punctuated by wooden shutters, creates a picture-perfect exterior, accentuated by the use of simple patio furniture in the garden. Interior spaces are defined by the white beams hovering over the serene arrangements accentuated by natural stone walls. The existing flooring at the entrance and living room is used as a way to detach the interior design from over-exposure to modern design and keep the balance of the overall look. A raised dining area, separated from the living room by a creative shelving system shelters the owners’ meal times from distractions. Salvaged items and industrial elements found their place in a house that displays a melting pot of styles. This fascinating interior design leaves you wanting more and creates a few new ideas for anyone looking for inspiration. Enjoy!

Modern Home Lake Chapala Waterfront Vacation Home on the Shore of Lake Chapala

A weekend retreat like this next one can be considered a dream come true. Named the SJC House, the vacation home on the shore of Lake Chapala in San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, Mexico is a fabulous contemporary home that overlooks the largest freshwater Mexican lake. Designed by Ricardo Agraz, the splendid vacation residence covers 550 square meters on a 2,200 square meter property – perfect size for a fantastic vacation with family and friends. The vacation retreat on the edge of the lake got its name from the location: San Juan Cosala – SJC Residence. The rest was done by the architect – a contemporary architecture that differentiates itself from the neighbouring homes. Hidden from the street by a white fence, the vacation home is connected to the road by a front yard, but the entertaining and relaxation takes place in the backyard, where a large terrace along the construction with an integrated pool awaits family and guests. The green lawn leads down to a dock and the view of the lake and landscape steals your heart. The living and dining rooms continue out to the terrace, allowing the family to enjoy the interconnectivity between inside and outside. Find the detail you love most about this house and share it with us.
