Impressive Contemporary Home in Kyoto: T House Posted: 22 Nov 2010 04:02 AM PST T House was designed by Atelier Boronski and is located on a small hill overlooking Kyoto in Japan. The architects confronted with a series of interdictions while elaborating this beautiful home for a young couple, but managed to overcome every obstacle. Integrated in a beautiful natural landscape, the overall design features elements that maximize this advantage, such as the wide windows which offer unobstructed views in all directions. Here is more on the structure of the project from the architects: “There are three primary elements at work in this composition. The main external walls (running east/west), the private volumes (overlapping and bridging) and the resultant void space extending above the LDK. The main Living, Dining, Kitchen area on the first floor opens onto the main terrace facing the garden to the east allowing classical indoor/outdoor living, and the ceiling height in this area varies from 2.5m to 7.5m. As you move through this area can you clearly perceive the three primary elements.” The house also accommodates two main bedrooms, a guest bedroom at the third floor, two terraces and a garage. One of the focal points of the residence is the curved stairway which connects the three levels. This element combined with the open spaces gives this residence its “social” role. We are looking forward to seeing how this building looks once its interior design is finished.

Beautiful Wooden Stairs that take Design to a Different Level Posted: 22 Nov 2010 03:06 AM PST We came across some interesting stairs design. Process, in collaboration with Atelier Sad, put their minds together to design a few interiors for different clients. There are two homes which surprised us with a beautiful element that they have in common: the stairs. The Krnany home and the Studentska house both feature creatively designed stairs with contemporary looks. The first design is made from wood, with geometrical forms that compliment the rest of the interior design. These lattice stairs look incredible in the modern home – they rest on two steps made from concrete, which gives them dynamicity and elegance. The second set of stairs have railings that resemble a fishing net – the lattice motif is once again present, but this time the material and display are different. Built on a metal support, this set of stairs also acts like shelves for quick storage. The stairs themselves are unusual – they seem to be made from wooden boxes and need a little getting used to because of their placement. Innovative and beautiful, both set of stairs invite guests to relax in a modern setting and enjoy something a bit different that what they are used to.

Newlywed Apartment Bursting with Colors in Singapore Posted: 22 Nov 2010 01:57 AM PST We recently received some photos of a newlywed apartment designed by Stanley Tham. This energetic crib located in Rivervale Crescent, Singapore inspires freshness and an overall positive atmosphere. We really enjoyed reading the designer’s “afterthoughts” on the apartment and are certain so will you:”Happiness is contagious. The idiosyncratic, playful spirit in this home evolved from a fun design process I had with the happily newly-married couple. And my, what fun we had indeed! Here, we had wanted to prove that colors can’t clash and a space can still look chic even when it is bursting with multiple colors. To visualize the scheme, think vibrant and decadent. Yes, it is also very much about self-indulgence – a space that’s comfy but filled with stuff that has meaning to you. Personal style should make you happy and happiness is chic. From the boutique hotel-inspired rooms to the rejuvenated contemporary kitchen, every corner seeks to be smile-inducing.”

We don`t have time to go to the gym and all the hours we spend in front of the computer are starting to show. This is why more and more people choose to take time at home to do fitness exercising and stretching. Process created a great home fitness equipment that looks so good that you can`t wait to see what it can do. They constructed “a multi-functional set of objects intended for the interior as a contemporary furniture and for stretching your body at the same time”.
