Funny Suitcase Stickers that May or My Not Allow You to Cross the Border Posted: 22 Sep 2010 04:26 AM PDT In case you were looking for a wacky design for your new suitcase, here is an idea. In the pictures below you have four stickers that can be applied to your luggage for a crazy (some would even call it outrageous) look. However, we think they are interesting and creative, even though they are meant for the more “courageous” spirits. After all, venturing with such a suitcase to the airport is hazardous. You never know if you might get one of these designs across the border or if the airport stuff will chase you around. Even though they are especially designed for suitcases, the crazy stickers can be applied on any other object. They cost 15$ each and 50$ if you are planning on buying them all at once. Modern Residence with Surprising and Daring Interiors in Belgium Posted: 22 Sep 2010 02:43 AM PDT This diverse and enchanting home comes from AABE and is located in Belgium. It measures 800 square meters and reaches six meters in hight. Here is more information from the architects: ” [This is a] residence based on two rings: a vertical ring ensures the connection between the levels, a horizontal ring includes the earth pressure at the rear and forms the interface between the main part and the rooms on the first floor. Everything is designed so as not to have to reveal the intimacy of the premises to passers-by, in this way, only a small section of the South facing garden is reserved to welcoming visitors and the entrance to the garage. To the right, the site climbs. Steps lead you to two levels in the area bathed in light … the upper garden.” What we absolutely love about it is its captivating interior design. The stylish black, white and red color palette is a good starting point for quite a few spectacular contrasts all throughout the residence. Contemporary furniture with dramatic and unexpected shapes, floor to ceiling windows, tasteful art decorations…would we be wrong to say this home has it all?

Apartment Store in Moscow Inspired by Alice in Wonderland Posted: 21 Sep 2010 11:29 PM PDT Mood Swings Apartment Store in Moscow, Russia got some help from Fredrick Nilsby and Cyril Duval in creating this beautiful showroom. The concept behind this Store was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. There are four spaces divided by different types of wishes a fashion-savvy woman would look for: Simple, Classic, Funny and Avantgarde. These symbols of a woman`s moods embrace the costumers from the minute they walk in. Carring many well-known brand for women, Mood Swings Apartment Store has two levels interconnected through a staircase that hides a face bookshelf. The black staircase plays with the imagination by offering a playing cards scenario to accentuate the theme. The huge tree that shelters the fake library is a reminder of the rabbit`s hole from Lewis Caroll`s novel. Stepping down the stairs means going from the classic and simple upstairs to the funny and bohemian downstairs. The spinning cake that belongs to the mysterious underworld is mixed with chequered floors and fantasy-like splashes of colour. Mannequins here are custom painted so that they fit in with the decor. Imagination spins its wheels when walking in the most exquisite of the rooms: The Funny room. Vegetation on trellis and a huge bunny hedge welcomes the customer to this fantastic unrealistic world of wonders. Even the cupboards on the entrance floor are custom made into fitting rooms so that Narnia can be considered another inspiration for Mood Swings. “Almost all furniture and interior elements was produced in Sweden and many pieces was also found in different stores around Stockholm. An absolutely non-minimalistic project! ” says interior designer Fredrick Nilsby. Ready for more amazing design ideas? Check below !

Cool Out-Of-The-Box Lamp Design from Yeongwoo Kim Posted: 21 Sep 2010 10:05 AM PDT Here is an out-of-the-box lighting design from Yeongwoo Kim. “Pouring Light” is an original lamp idea that manages to intrigue and fascinate its viewers, because at first this product simply looks impossible. After all, no one likes to spill hot tea on the floor and when that happens, no one would ever consider grabbing the liquid and move it around to illuminate things. This is the case with the Pouring Light Lamp, a design inspired by a spilling cup of tea (it even has the tea bag inside for an extra lifelike effect). Even though it seems strange, this product can be moved around by grabbing the pouring liquid, it is sustained by spilled tea and it lights up with the help of a tea bag. Moreover, it has an impeccable design and can be easily integrated in almost any type of modern interior. Pretty cool, wouldn’t you say?- via Hometone

Small Apartment with a Modern and Distinguished Interior Design Posted: 21 Sep 2010 09:05 AM PDT Hofman Dujardin is an architecture studio from the Netherlands with an impressive and truly charming portfolio. For today we decided to showcase a special project of theirs, this beautiful and modern 100 square meter apartment located in Amsterdam. Here is some information from the designers: “This project is a standard apartment transformed into a luxurious and spacious apartment with a spectacular panorama of the city. The glass extension is designed according to the rhythm of the existing facade. The newly decorated living room, kitchen and terraces are stylishly connected. The lower kitchen area including bathroom and bedroom are equipped with a dark ceramic tile. In the upper living room and study is a parquet floor. The black floors form a strong contrast with the light walls and white furniture.” We were fascinated by the vertical fireplace, which adds a feeling of warmth to this minimalist contemporary crib and by the amazing terrace. Most Practical and Creative Bike Storage Idea Posted: 21 Sep 2010 08:00 AM PDT If you have ever seen a more creative way of storing a bike, we would like to challenge you to prove it by posting a photo on our Freshome Facebook Fan Page. This ingenious shelving bike storage idea was created by Chris Brigham who had worked for over a decade in web designing. After collaborations with resonant names such as Design Magazine-ONE and Google, his need for tangible objects increased and so he decided to start his own firm, Knife & Saw: “My aim for Knife & Saw is to be a place where people can come with a problem or idea and I can take that and build something to fit it. I felt like it was hard to find custom built furniture that was somewhat affordable around town, so I'm hoping to fill that void." And it is true that most people have trouble housing their bicycles and that this is an elegant and affordable solution. However, since the bike will be stored indoors and placed on the wall, it should be clean all the time, which may be a small drawback to this design.- via gblog
