Modern Home Addition with a Fascinating and Unexpected Design Posted: 18 Sep 2010 05:26 AM PDT This modern home addition with an original and unexpected design comes from Paul McAneary Architects and is located in Hammersmith, London. The project is called “Faceted House 1″ and it represents an impressive extension of a two story building. The new construction has an unusual exterior, featuring sliding doors and a frameless folded roof panel, creating a "ballet of light". But above all that, the architects wanted to create a strong indoor/outdoor connection: “The concept driving the whole design is a 30° twist that allows physical and perceptive overlapping between the indoor and the outdoor spaces, between the garden and kitchen thresholds – so whilst at the sink you feel the garden is actually behind you. This conceptual idea is manifest in the details of the faceted zinc facade and the floating external deck, being cut back to a fine angled edge. Ukraine Amazing 3D Light Show, a Must See [Video] Posted: 18 Sep 2010 12:56 AM PDT Here is an amazing video of a 3D Light Show in Kharkov, Ukraine. Apparently, this uncommon projection on the building of the Kharkiv Regional Administration was a public one, celebrating the city and the Independence Day (34′th of August). The show looks quite interactive and captivating, especially those particular moments which can really puzzle the public, as they look… unexplainable. We think this is a really impressive and original idea which can compete with that of buying a lot of expensive fireworks when doing such an event in honor of a certain national day. We would have loved to be in the public and see this amazing “performance” live, but this video will have to do  for now. Take a look and let us know which part you liked best. Enchanting One Room Apartment with a Warm Feel Posted: 17 Sep 2010 08:44 AM PDT Here is a beautiful one room apartment located in a historical building in Sweden. Recently renovated, the 51 square meter crib looks very spacious and gives away a warm feeling. The wide, arch windows ensure a large amount of natural light while the white painted walls and blue wallpaper inspire tranquility. The living room has plenty of room for a sofa, a TV stand, a reading corner and a coffee table. In addition, it features a spacious walk-in closet, which is hidden behind beautiful mirror doors, offering excellent storage. And if you thought that bed is placed in a separate room, look closer. Even though it seems isolated in the photos and probably in reality too, the bed is also a part of the living room. Dear Readers : We Made a Few Changes to Freshome.com Posted: 17 Sep 2010 08:33 AM PDT In the last week we made some changes to Freshome.com and in this post I’m going to talk about these small changes. Feel free to leave a comment and tell us what do you think about these new changes. 1. Until now in the left sidebar the only way to subscribe to Freshome was the RSS Subscription. Right now if you want you can get the latest Freshome articles via email everyday. Just click on that button and enter your email address. 2. Now for example if you enter in a simple post you can go to the next an previous post by clicking those links that appear near the title of the post. A lot of people wanted something like this on Freshome and now this option is on. Do you find it useful ? 3. You might noticed the “Back to TOP” button, but have you ever clicked on that button ? The “Back to TOP” button is helpful when you are in a post with lots of images. After scrolling down to see all the pictures from a post all you have to do to get back up ( at the beginning of the post ) is to click on that button. When you are “Back to Top” you can use the previous and next post button we talked at nr.2. 4. Until now we had some voting buttons on the website that allowed you to vote your favorite articles. The most voted articles would appear in the Most Voted section on the sidebar. After testing these buttons for more than 3 months we noticed that people don’t care to much about voting on articles and we decided to remove them. Right now in the sidebar you can see the Most Viewed articles based on the number of people who viewed each article ( day / week / month ). So right now if someone visits an article that visit is counted …..in conclusion the number of visits = votes. Finally please leave a comment and tell us what do you think about these new changes we’ve just made. Also if you have any other suggestions for us ..leave a comment.
