A-Cero Strikes Again: Amazing Concrete House in Madrid Posted: 03 Aug 2010 10:46 AM PDT We’ve seen so many incredible displays of design and architecture from A-Cero that now our expectations (and probably your as well) are getting higher and higher when it comes to a company with such an amazing portfolio. So far it seems that the architects at A-Cero live up to their prestige and their latest residential project stands as a solid proof. The Concrete House II is a family project located in Madrid and stretches over a surface of no less than 1.600 square meters. The first impression when seeing its unusual architecture with gray concrete and vegetation ramps is that you are looking at an bunker entrance. The facade reveals large windows and uncommon shapes. The roof ensures this home’s ecological features as it contains solar tubular collectors, making this residence a sustainable project. The site also includes a beautiful garden and a picturesque lake which complete the “dreamy” image that this home inspires. |
Magic Chair with Invisible Feet from Davide Conti Posted: 03 Aug 2010 08:29 AM PDT At a first glance, this chair appears to disobey the laws of Physics. The Magic Chair comes from designer Davide Conti and seems to only stand on one foot. This optical illusion is made possible due to a transparent material which is used to help maintain the balance of the chair. But since this material is almost invisible, when looking at this product from a certain angle, the user will surprisingly only see a bunch of straight thin lines. Despite its fragile appearance, this chair is very durable and strong. Moreover, it is a very original piece of furniture to have around. Its elegance is another strong feature and its simplicity make it very easy to adjust in almost any type of interior. However, in order to preserve the unique style of this design, we recommend a minimalist arrangement. Do you agree? -via Decoesfera

Incredible Looking Home With Infinity Pool Posted: 03 Aug 2010 12:33 AM PDT This incredible looking home was designed by Spanish architect Ramón Esteve and combines contemporary living with the freedom of a holiday home. Some of the exterior walls have an impressive rocky finish probably inspired by the beautiful natural landscape surrounding this construction. Outdoor relaxing areas are well defined and you will notice plenty of patio furniture elements within the photos. The focal point of this residence is its amazing infinity pool that creates a dream-like atmosphere. As we step inside, the natural materials used for the exterior walls can be found here too. Combined with the neutral color scheme, they create a homey and relaxing feel. Inside modern elements are combined with rustic ones and wooden furniture in order to create interiors that are absolutely stunning. We know this may prove to be a hard question to answer, but what do you personally like most about this home?- via Desire to Inspire
