Lyra is a new furniture collection manufactured by KI with as a fresh and modern interpretation of a classic design iconography. It consists of lounge chairs with ottomans and matching side tables. Such furniture can complement virtually any environment and make it comfortable place to chat or to relax. Lyra employs a variety of mixed media in its construction, which allows for a dynamic visual range. All furniture in the collection is simple yet elegant. It’s made with using of rapidly renewable materiales including FSC certified woods.

Staircases are such things that could be as eye catching as practical. They can connect sever floors of your home and provide some book or other small things storage. They also can be very compact in case you don’t need an additional storage space and your space is at the premium. In case you have a difficult layout situation you might find some interesting staircase design ideas here.

This very thin staircase combined is part of the house designed by architects Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo. It’s combined with a cooking hood and a book storage system so it serves different purposes at once.

Levitate Architects used a staircase to a loft-like bedroom to create an enormous amount of book storage space. Even though the staircase isn’t very compact but could accomodate so many books that it would save some space anyway.

Not all of us has large houses that have enough space for all our needs. Some of us live in small apartments that doesn’t have enough space even for comfortable living. Although some architects manage to create so thoughtful interior that even such apartments could be very livable. The East Village Studio is a tiny apartment that serves owners for both living and working. It has only about 500 square feet of space and made like an open studio. It features an enormous amount of millwork that not only makes an environment look cosy but also produces a lot of storage space. The wood looks amazing in combination with high-gloss white surfaces. Among the most noticeable features of the millwork are stairs up to the sleeping loft that also serve as dresser drawers.
