| Flat Renovation in Barcelona, Based on Strong Visual Effects Posted: 29 Jun 2010 07:29 AM PDT We thought it was time to showcase another flat renovation on Freshome in order to give you some fresh ideas. From studio Miel Arquitectos comes an apartment makeover which we find to be quite original. The project was named “Santpere47″ and has a lot of interesting features. Golden lines and circles create a playful wall design which is very inviting to observe. The ceiling is particularly captivating, as the pattern is unusual and reminds one of royalty chambers. Storage space is provided unconventionally: there is a bookcase under the stairs and a few spots within the walls where objects can be placed. The lighting system in this apartment is also worth a second look: the pendant lamps are subtle and elegant and we were impressed by the staircase lamps. The decorating items are in complete harmony with the overall feel of the home. And if you look closely, you will also see the “Drop XL” coat hanger which we presented in a previous post called 25 of the Most Creative Wall Hook Designs. | Fashionable Blue Sofa and Armchair : “Quilt” Posted: 29 Jun 2010 06:43 AM PDT This fancy new set of blue furniture truly fascinated us. “Quilt” comes from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and brings with it originality and a fresh look. The navy blue is a very inspired color, as it is not too simple nor too flashy. This makes the set integrate well in a classic environment, but in a modern one as well. The unusual upholstered collection comes in various dimensions and after a little research we found out that red and black versions are also available. The sofa looks extremely comfortable and so does the armchair, due to the feet-rest addition. But we think in this case, aesthetics comes first, as this is the type of sofa one could proudly display in a fashionable living room. We are looking forward to your opinions on this set.

| Celine Dion’s New $20 Million Home in Florida Has an Aquatic Wonderland Posted: 29 Jun 2010 05:25 AM PDT Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil recently had a mansion constructed for their family in Florida. This new project costed the couple $20million (£13.9million) and a lot of neighborhood racket. An aquatic wonderland, this 9,825 square feet home is also located in the proximity of the ocean. Its exact location is on Jupiter Island, where some of the wealthiest stars live. The miniature water park includes two pools, two water slides and a small river with a generated current in order to carry the water around, which makes the total water amount needed for the system to work equal to 500,000 gallons. Apparently the construction of the house brought some serious complains from the community, as the construction of this system led to a drought on the island. The residence houses eight bedrooms, an underground garage, a large wardrobe and a gym. We are looking forward to your impressions on this post.- via Daily mail

| Imposing Contemporary Residence from Ehrlich Architects Posted: 28 Jun 2010 11:36 PM PDT Here is an eye-catching contemporary house from Ehrlich Architects, a studio founded in 1979. The Zeidler residence is located in Aptos, California in a magical space, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a few steps away from the beach. Built for a couple and their family, the structure is really impressive in size (3,500 square feet) and has several delimited living spaces. The indoors and exterior were designed in order to take advantage of the site’s potential to the maximum. Large windows and balconies ensure a large amount of natural light and the overall openness of the residence. The interior is very modern, featuring tasteful arrangements and a pale but intriguing color palette. Three king sized bedrooms ensure accommodation for friends and visitors. Does this contemporary residence seem like a nice place to live in or do you consider it too ostentatious?
