25 Room Designs for Teenage Boys Posted: 18 Jun 2010 08:54 AM PDT Since we had a post on Feshome with 25 room designs for teenage girls, it is only natural that we should have a similar collection for boys as well. We have to admit it was very hard finding these pictures, as not many interior designers focus on creating boys’ room arrangements. Do you have any idea why? Even though it was not easy, we hope you will enjoy strolling through the photos. The color palette includes mostly black, blue and brown, but we found some pretty fresh boys’ interiors that have more vivid colors as well. Most of the rooms have a distinctive “teenage boy” element such as a punching bag, a miniature or a plane, a gaming device and so on. We particularly enjoy the themed rooms, such as the military interior. If you see anything else that caught your attention, please let us know. |
Ridiculously Expensive Speakers Inspired by the Eames Chair Posted: 18 Jun 2010 06:25 AM PDT Inspired by the famous Eames Chair, these classy speakers give out elegance and good taste. However, being given that they are ridiculously expensive -$6000 a pair- we have to say elegance comes in a variety of forms and perhaps one could search for it somewhere else. Designed by Davone Ray, we have to admit these speakers caught our attention. After all, their design is impeccable and it has all the attributes for success: originality in idea and shape, a famous predecessor and plenty of style. They could go great in a minimalist living room, creating a charming atmosphere. Since this product can definitely rise some questions, we are eager to find out what you think. -via Unplggd |
Lapigra, a Deliberately Messy Chair with a Comfortable Feel Posted: 18 Jun 2010 06:04 AM PDT Monica Graffeo designed these unusual chair for Zilio A & C, a company with over 60 years of experience. We absolutely loved Monica’s description of her project, the “Lapigra” chair, so here is a part of her review: “It 's an object created to be messy and unseemly, not pulled, not perfect, but full of folds. The look is deliberately a bit 'scruffy and casual as the atmosphere of a very lazy Sunday morning …” The chair is indeed unusual and informal, but we think this is what contributes to its charm. As the designer stated, this is not a design meant to impress someone with its spotless look, but a more personalized one, a chill out chair if you will. The chair’s strongest point is its very well defined personality and we sure love designs that make a statement.-via Decoesfera |
Imposing Contemporary Residence in Atlanta, Georgia Posted: 18 Jun 2010 04:56 AM PDT The Ashely Avenue residence comes from TaC Studios and is located in Atlanta, Georgia. We think this place defines the trend that has captured architecture recently. You are looking at a compact home with very large interiors, two levels, a mix of modern and classical furniture and an interesting outdoor pool. We featured this house because it has a lot of interesting and detailed angles of site, a various interior design and quite a few inspiring elements. We particularly like the spiral stairs- even though they probably take up a whole lot of space, the wide living room with the focus on the piano and the fireplace window. Still, we think this home is not very well defined and resembles a lot of residences you’ve probably seen on Freshome before. Tell us if you agree.

Elegant Adjustable Desk From Herman Miller Posted: 18 Jun 2010 01:59 AM PDT This adjustable desk from Herman Miller is said to be the upgrade of the Envelop desk, a previous product of the famous design brand (first photo). The idea of a height adaptable desk is not new, however the market was long waiting from a version signed Herman Miller. Elegant and stylish, but most of all ergonomic, the office can get as high/ or as low as the user desires. This way reaching a maximum level of comfort is possible in a very short period of time. The system involves adjusting legs which can be made to move up or down with simply the touch of a button. Add a height-adaptable chair and you’ve got yourself a fun and customizable office.-via Unplggd
