This fun and funky chair is called the Bomb and is made by italian companyAdrenalina. Aptly named and designed after the aforementioned object widely used during the WWII, this armchair can sure spark some conversation. I’m pretty sure that all your friends will want to try this interesting chair, don’t you think ? Follow Freshome on Twitter or Facebook |
iCushion : Iphone 3GS Shaped Pillow Posted: 18 May 2010 07:20 AM PDT If you are a fan of Apple products I’m pretty sure that you are waiting for the new Iphone 4G, but until then you should check this cute Iphone shaped pillow. The iCushion is another Apple themed accessory for your apartment ( we presented before the iPod Touch Themed Bedding ), a pillow shaped like the iPhone 3GS, and as you can see from the photos it has all the standard iPhone icons on the front. If you want one it looks like they are only available in Korea for 19,800 KRW which is about $17 from the Early Shop. Follow Freshome on Twitter or Facebook |
Little Black Dresser by Judson Beaumont Posted: 18 May 2010 06:12 AM PDT Designed by Vancouver based artist Judson Beaumont the Little Black Dresser is a fully functional piece of chic art furniture shaped like a dress. The little black dresser by Judson Beaumont of Straight Line Designs Inc. represents the designer’s foray into sexier fare. Finally we can say that this piece of furniture is cute, but a dresser you hand in the closet it not our idea of practical. What do you think about it ? Follow Freshome on Twitter or Facebook |
The Seafarer Residence: Eccentricity and Style Posted: 18 May 2010 04:39 AM PDT Australian designer Jared Poole has designed and developed the magnificent Seafarer Residence. Located in Surfers Paradise, Australia, this is an opulent home which had to respond to the constraints of its building site. Doesn’t it seem lately that the best architecture projects are built on the toughest terrains? Anyway, this residence stretches on an area of 1880 square meters which is terrifyingly huge. It has three levels plus basement and a total of ten bathrooms. We see this more as a residential complex than a family home, but its fantastic design and eccentric approach captured our attention and determined us to share this project with you. The interior is modern, with rooms featuring high windows for great ocean views. Follow Freshome on Twitter or Facebook |
Elegant and Sophisticated: “The Lounger” from Hayon Studio Posted: 18 May 2010 02:43 AM PDT Here’s a beautiful furniture element you don’t see every day. From Hayon Studio comes “The Lounger”, a sophisticated wing chair- or should we say “armchair”?- whose shape breaks the rules in matters of chair design. Created in order to “satisfy those who have more classical tastes”, the product goes great in a variety of interiors. Leaving aside its good looks, The Lounger was meant to be a model of comfort and is said to increase the level of relaxation for its user with every passing minute of seating. This is due to its miraculous cushions located in the back and on the chair’s arms. A foot rest is also available, but not mandatory. The chair comes in five different colors and it is up to the customer to chose the model that suits his needs. Which one would you go for? Follow Freshome on Twitter or Facebook |
Superhero Lifestyle: The House of Iron Man Posted: 17 May 2010 11:52 AM PDT Iron Man 2 continues the adventures of billionaire Tony Stark and his superhero alter ego Iron Man. The main character is played by Robert Downey Jr. and the whole movie features amazing effects and state-of-the-art technology. But the home of the character is by far the most interesting aspect of the movie- from our point of view at least. This may come as a huge disappointment to some of our readers, but what you see in the photos below is digitized fiction. Jon Favreau, the director of the film explains that the home was falsely positioned on a site in Malibu. It is forbidden to build an architecture project there, so they came up with a different solution: computer graphics. The interiors were built on a sound-stage area in Los Angeles and everything was synchronized with the computer plans. When I’ve saw the movie the house was so real but it seems that movies can trick us very easily ..like this one did. -via Home-Designing

New Design for London Buses. What Do You Think? Posted: 17 May 2010 11:36 AM PDT We know you are used to seeing articles about interior design & architecture on Freshome, but today we decided to spice up our posts and present something different, but intriguing nevertheless ( tell us if you like to see this kind of stuff from time to time ). British designer Thomas Heatherwick has created a design alternative for London's iconic Routemaster bus together with The Wright Group. The famous double-decker will be out on the London streets by 2012. We also know that it uses the latest in green technology and lightweight materials. Here is a statement from London’s mayor, Boris Johnson: "This iconic new part of our transport system will cut emissions, and give Londoners a bus they can be proud of, complete with cutting edge design, and the freedom of an open platform.” This project is very much related to design- just not in the way you guys got used to- which is why we are very interested in finding out your opinions on this new type of approach.-via Dezeen

Ingenious: Hidden Shelves Behind Ceramic Tiles Posted: 17 May 2010 11:10 AM PDT Called “the Undetected”, this ingenious ceramics project comes from Fluye Studio and is a huge space saver! Did you ever think bathroom walls could hide so many storage elements? Check the picture below and you will see how a plain space with apparently nothing but straight walls can turn into a deposit for clothes and a whole lot of other items. The drawers, cupboards and lockers seem to come out of nowhere. In fact, all it takes for them to pop out is knowing what tiles to open. This idea could work great in a private home as well as in a public space. The best thing about the project is that it can really help one keep the room tidy and organized at all times.-via HomeQn
