Restoration of Victorian Farm House Into a Family Home

Furzey Hall Farm is a unique family home for artist Jake Chapman. It’s a restoration of Victorian farm house which is done by Waugh Thistleton Architects. The expansive house has been divided into several distinct areas to meet the various different uses of a modern family. Sleek, modern extensions to either side of the farmhouse provide guest accommodation and an open plan kitchen and dining area. The main barn has been retained as a traditional open-plan space, providing a grand living room and a master suite. Although the house still retains the traditional feel of country living what is very important in such kind of projects. Of course modern elements are also important and there are a lot of them too. As you might notice, it’s really great when a traditional farmhouse and barn is successfully combined with modern elements.
