Stockholm Apartment Boasting 182 Square Meters of Raw Inspiration Posted: 22 Jun 2012 06:25 AM PDT This original looking four room apartment in Stockholm, Sweden boasts 182 square meters of raw inspiration! Centered around an open plan living and dining space, with an impressive ceiling height of four meters, the loft combines a rustic charm with state-of-the-art contemporary additions. Inclined walls and exposed wooden beams give this relatively large apartment a cozy, intimate feel. A round coffee table surrounded by comfortable seating units make this place a welcoming socializing area. The modern, flashy fireplaces are in contrast with the overall design, resonating only with the kitchen counter-tops. The living area is also connected to an outdoor terrace, through generously-sized glass doors. Breaches in the ceiling ensure a high amount of natural light inside. The bedrooms are spacious and airy, with cleverly-integrated storage space. Please drop a line and share your own favorite details regarding this Stockholm loft!

Strong Colors and an Overall Playful Vision: Polaris House in Massachusetts Posted: 22 Jun 2012 04:59 AM PDT With its name deriving from the North Star (easy to spot though the skylight the kid’s bedroom), Polaris House was designed by Boston-based architect Bob Augustine and is located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. The exterior of the residence is adapted to the wood-defined architecture of the neighborhood. The entrance is easy to spot, due to the zinc-clad silo, contrasting the rest of the building finished in Western Red Cedar. The interiors were especially developed with a playful, childish vision in mind. Vivid colors and eye-catching lighting fixtures fill the house. As the client explained, the living space "is all about the kids." A circular metal stair, painted in a striking industrial orange hue, acts as the focal point of the residence and guides inhabitants towards the second floor, where a library and a home office are located. New Google/You Tube Office in Beverly Hills Abounding With Color Posted: 22 Jun 2012 03:58 AM PDT Entertainment saturated Los Angeles got a new Google/You Tube office addition, right in Beverly Hills. Designed by HLW, the interiors of this project seem to perfectly blend the attributes of a work environment with the relaxed atmosphere of a social area. Following the trend of colorful office spaces settled by Google (just check out these other two project in London and Zurich), it is only fair that this space in Beverly Hills boasts vivid decors throughout. The most “serious” zones are the ones hosting the actual offices, defined by a relatively simple color palette, yet letting out an overall cozy feel. But as we got used to, informal spaces seem to take over this project, if you are to consider the “visual attachment” factor. Looking through the photos below, it is impossible not to get caught up in the design of the cafĂ© room, with its industrial influences or in the appearance of the “experience center” in cheerful tones (third photo of the post). How would you comment on the design of this Google/You Tube Office in terms of employee motivation? Unique Handsewn Cotton And Leather Cushions For Special Homes Posted: 22 Jun 2012 02:36 AM PDT The Cushion Collection designed by Coussin Baptiste Viry for Yellow Velvet is a striking set of cotton and leather decor pieces that seem to lend the surrounding space a bit of their charm. These interesting cushions make a great decor for interiors in search of a unique piece of decoration that comes with the artist’s signature. Used men's shoes were entangled in a leather patchwork cushion entitled “The Little Shoes” – the hand-sewn shoes were finished with a hot wax buff and backed with suede. Another cushion – named “The Pause” – is made entirely of white cotton canvas and displays superior Barenia calf's leather straps holding a rolled up magazine. Next, the Siesta cushion is also a white cotton piece, but this one features a navy blue rolled 180 cm canvas mat. Or maybe you like the one made entirely out of navy blue cotton canvas, with the same leather straps finished with a hot wax buff on which hangs a man's glove. Either one of these cushions have removable feather interiors and are suited for dry clean only. Gold-plated buckles make the difference in style and expose the delicate design that you might find room for in your home. Artistic Global Urban Space Vision On A New York Kitchen Wall [Video] Posted: 22 Jun 2012 12:53 AM PDT What you’re looking at is a kitchen wall, covered in drawings – a fluid design on a New York residential wall depicting the greatest monuments of several cities melting into a global artistic vision. The Global City Wall is the brainchild of artist Deck Two, who created a fresh perspective on two high white walls. Extending its dynamic shape across two walls, this black and white wall painting showcases the artist’s love for drawing. Found on Fubiz, Global City Wall is an inspirational project that must have started with sketches of different cities – the artist’s portfolio proves that this creative wall expression came after tackling with this idea for some time. There is even proof of the meticulous work that went into this project – a video by Nathalie Thomas and Lapicorey Dartigues which you can enjoy after the photos.
