Posted: 13 Jun 2011 12:21 PM PDT

Architect Carlo Rampazzi and designer Sergio Villa presented their fantastic furniture collection called Opus Futura at the Salone del Mobile 2011 in Milan. The exhibits pieces are made up brilliantly in the preparation of a traditional dining room, but very modern by the use of modern technology. The exclusives decorations made by the artist Sergio Villa and the ability of the masters of glass, wood, textile and light, bring the exhibit pieces at the highest levels of the applied arts, contributing to their development and their recognition. The color scheme is great – yellow and turquoise blue, it reminds of Egypt and of the art of the Mediterranean countries. A fantastic modern and fresh variant for your dining room!

Original Rubik’s Cube Table

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 09:22 AM PDT

Rubik’s Cube is one of the most famous brainteasers in the world, it was created in 1974 by a Hungarian sculptor and architect Erne Rubik. Originally it was a plastic cube made of 26 smaller parts that could spin around their axes. Now imagine a Rubik’s Cube with dimensions 17×17х17! It already exists and is called Over The Top. It was created by brainteaser specialist, Oscar van Deventer, a designer from the Netherlands. Each side of the cube is made of 1539 parts. Such a cube may be used as a sidetable or even a chair. Then when you don't use it as a table you can take it and try to solve the puzzle. A very interesting piece for any room! The cube costs $1,691 but it is really worth it!

Old Oil Mill Restored Into A Modern House

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 05:22 AM PDT

Provence is a province in the south of France. It's a charming place full of old architecture and vineyards. This old oil mill was built in the 19th century, recently it has been restored and transformed in a country house in Nimes. The open plan area downstairs includes the living-room, dining-room, kitchen and study room. The original interior design, inspired by the loft style, gives this house a very special character. While the house itself is classic all the furniture is modern with a classic or rustic touch. Here you can see a stunning material mix: stone walls, polished concrete floors, iron windows and natural timber. Neutral tones add charm and coziness to the place. The house is so charming and calm that I began dreaming of a place like that. And you?
