Vivid and Colorful Stacking Chair Design: Juicy by Angelo Tomaiuolo Posted: 24 Nov 2010 06:18 AM PST We have come across an interesting project from architect Angelo Tomaiuolo. Juicy Chair is a lively and comfortable seating product said to be inspired by freshly squeezed natural juice. This explains the large variety of colors and finishing versions. Individually, the chairs have an original appearance and occupy little space. When they are stacked, they form a delightful multicolor batch which can be easily moved in a special storage room or displayed in a corner of the kitchen. The material used to create the chair is gloss bicoloured recyclable polycarbonate and the designs are available in transparent versions as well as mat ones. This makes them easy to adapt to various modern kitchen designs, terraces and outdoor arrangements. How do you find these colorful chair designs?

Incredible Architecture with Unexpected Perspectives: Fyf Residence Posted: 24 Nov 2010 03:58 AM PST Fyf Residence was designed by Patterns and comes with a highly original architecture. The amazing family house located in Rosario, Argentina has an interesting monolithic form and consists of a single level. Its twisted exterior contrasts the other buildings in its neighborhood and features plenty of intriguing elements. The folds and bends within the concrete create unusual openings which make for some uncommon windows offering “oblique views”. The shape of the house is stretched by an appealing looking pool which seems to stir down the overall dynamics of the architecture. The total surface of the house is 200 square feet and also includes a small greenhouse at the request of the clients, a landscape designer and an agricultural engineer. The interiors feature plenty of unexpected angles and effects. Through the clearings in the concrete, the house gets a large amount of natural lighting during the day which creates playful shades all around.- via designboom

Contemporary Haystack Covered House in the Netherlands Posted: 24 Nov 2010 01:52 AM PST Architects Arjen Reas must have had their hands full with the inhabitants of this contemporary semi-secluded home, on the outskirts of Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. The initial briefing contained the family`s need to have an amazingly intricate concept of traditional and contemporary design mixed together. They also wanted this combination to be constructed exactly where the city ends and the farmland begins. The clients were amazed with the results: a modern creation combining white plaster and haystacks. The fusion between contemporary design and traditional taste gave birth to a mixture of simplicity, durability and expression. The compact haystacks not only make a statement at the edge of the city, but also create a very comfortable, safe environment. The interior features of this “nature meets city” home are a combination of modern opened space and traditional materials. The entrance sits next to the sloped driveway to the garage, where there are two more storage rooms and stair to the first level. From outside, a large dining room opens into a fully equipped kitchen. The living room is a beautifully decorated gateway to the backyard patio. This is where all the tranquillity pours in to relax the family. A patio so beautiful, it could very well be a reason to “dine out” every night. On the first floor there also is a bathroom, a scullery, a wardrobe and a stairwell that leads to the second floor. Here we find a master bedroom, a bathroom and three more bedrooms. The beautiful landscape can be enjoyed from either the master bedroom or the upstairs bathroom. This house is a perfect combination of old and new, of urban and rural.

Glamorous Villa on the Hills of Los Angeles with an Amazing View Posted: 24 Nov 2010 12:48 AM PST Abramson Teiger Architects designed this modern home above West Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. A white concrete facade gives the home its majestic feeling. Right next to the main entrance, a room conceived for children receives soft light through the translucent windows. Situated on the hills, the home features 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a playroom, two family rooms and an elegant living room. Every room displays views of the west Los Angeles basin, while the infinity edge pool creates a dreamy panorama of LA. Looking to absorb as much beauty as possible, the architects designed the home with a large patio that surrounds the pool, but left enough room for a rectangular lawn to accentuate the glamorous living spaces. A separate pool house was constructed near the pool – this offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the surroundings. Water is an important element for this home: the pool and the baths offer serenity and use the calming effect of water to relax and unwind: “the master bath is designed as a luxurious spa, overlooking the jet liner views. The bathroom is tranquil, serene and bathed in soft light.”

Contemporary Home placed among Threatened Jungle Species Posted: 23 Nov 2010 08:01 AM PST The Jardim Paulista House in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is designed by Brazilian architect Arthur Casas. Proving to be an interesting project from the very start, this home was constructed on two lots. One of the lots remained almost intact, because it was necessary to allow the Atlantic Jungle species to grow here. The area is one of the most valuable regions of the city, with wild plants growing protected inside the Jardim Paulista garden. Allowing the plants to flourish in a beautiful and protected environment is part of the statement made by this home – a promise to take care of nature and respect its incredible creations. The house was constructed facing the garden so that the inhabitants can enjoy the wild plants with only a swimming pool separating the two worlds. Neutral colours and a vast usage of wood make the interior design look embedded into nature. Large sliding doors create a strong connection with the outside and allow fresh air and sunshine to move freely through the living areas. Wood is a recurring motif – it can be found in the frames of the windows, the cladding on the outside and the furniture found in all the rooms. Some pieces of furniture keep a raw form only to accentuate the blending of natural and contemporary design. Simple drapes protect the intimacy of the inhabitants and offer shade whenever necessary. Bold lines in the design are soften by the use of neutral colours that emphasize a slow paced world where guests can relax in the company of the home owner.
