Furniture inspired by typography is an another trend of this year that Dutch Design Week 2010 has showed to us. ABChairs is a series of 26 typographic chairs that was presented there. It’s designed by graphic designer Roeland Otten and each chair represents a letter of the alphabet. Thanks to using of rotational moulding of LDPE plastic during their manufacture these chairs are quite lightweight, fragile and sustainable for outdoors use. At the moment these chairs can be bought only by request. Smaller size ABChairs for kids would also be available very soon.

Chair, Table and Lamp With Built-In Book Storage

Space saving furniture for reading is one of this year’s furniture trends. Especially popular are chairs combined with book storage. Reading Furniture collection designed by Remy van Oers in association with Coolen/AttrackZ includes one. The collection was presented on Dutch Design Week 2010 and besides the Reading Chair consists of the Reading Table and the Reading Lamp. As was sad before, the chair features the book storage but it also has a built-in lamp that can shine over your shoulder while you’re reading. The table shows your guest’s what you’re interested in by showing them your nice books. The lamp can also keep the books that you are currently reading safe in it’s storage space. All these furniture pieces are made of natural wood and cozy upholstery. Books can still be nice while there are such cool novities out there.
