Minimalist USB Lamp Handmade From Natural Materials: T2 by Artzavod [Video]

Young Ukrainian team Artzavod envisioned an elegant minimalist USB lamp handmade from natural materials. T2 features a simple look that pays tribute to modern design and technology. An unconventional assistant meant to inspire its user again and again, the lamp emits a warm light, adapted to a proper working environment in a home office. However, the lighting unit can be adapted to many contemporary spaces, from bedrooms to various social zones. According to the ongoing campaign on Kickstarter, T2 is Artzavod’s latest version of a portable and lightweight lamp made from natural materials, after their success with T1 desktop model.
Energy efficiency was one of the main factors to consider when designing this minimalist lamp: “T2 provides a warm (3000K) light, which is perfect for your home and office space. We used the newest generation of LEDs that last more than 30000 hours of lifetime. These are LEDs that produce 530 Lux of brightness using only 2 Watts of power. Instead of cheap LED stripes, there was a custom LED board created especially for this project. This means that the power consumption level of this lamp is very low, even if you use it for a long time”, explained Nick Ponomarenko on behalf of Artzavod. Eclectic Club Design Originating Unforgettable Nights : Epic Society in Timisoara

An epic club design in Timisoara will have you coming back to this bustling Romanian city for its vision, culture and entertaining possibilities. Nestled in a completely renovated and refurbished 300 square meter space, the Epic Society club was imagined by talented Romanian interior designer Alexandra Avram. Approaching the project with an enthusiastic originality, the designer imagined a “wild and free” scene cranked up by oak, birch and string and toned down with soft custom sofas. Mixing in plexiglass and fiberglass details, iron and glass, the designer imagined an eclectic club where natural and man-made co-exist. Nits and bolts, vintage inspiration entangled with futuristic visions, ceiling messages (some in UV paint) and even a Charlie Chaplin vibe are all part of the eclectic club design.

Apart from being an oasis of nature-inspired design within the “concrete jungle”, this entertaining venue places the focus on the music that helps transcend epic people into a world of freedom and exciting possibilities. The DJ booth is the main focus, that’s where the magic starts. Set in the middle of the colorful rectangular space accommodating more than 400 people, it infuses the overall appearance with a faceted, high-tech reminiscent design. The club’s owners, Tinu Vidaicu and Sebastian Raducanu, envisioned a location where people would feel as they do in nature.

Alongside Alexandra Avram, they used the space to create a design different from the predominantly high-tech club design scene. The club is accessible via a spacious lobby, while an annexed hallway leads to the two long and narrow bathrooms. Welcoming guests, a mannequin decorated with mirror mosaic behind “bars” makes a powerful impact. Lights create the atmosphere inside the club, ranging from transparent to sparkling, while the Epic logo shines bright at the entrance.

Epic Society’s managing partner, Tinu Vidaicu, guides us through the inspiration: “We wanted to build a space that inspires freedom and warmth but in the same time maintains it's functionality. The main attraction points are the DJ booth, which i consider one of the most important for the public and of course, the central bar. The club is designed to be cozy and comfortable and even though the bar and DJ area are very intense, the sense of intimacy is still felt. The project was inspired by the great feeling we have when we are in nature, and this is what we brought in the middle of the concrete city. Epic is nature reinvented in a space meant for entertainment.”
