We got used to Swedish homes displaying unassuming comfortable decors, with a cheerful vibe throughout. Comparing to what we usually publish, this Scandinavian apartment is downright “irreverent”. It is exactly this original twist that made it share it further. Envisioned by architect Denis Krasikov, the renderings below depict a spacious home jazzed up by industrial elements. The loft (to be developed in Murmansk, Russia) is bright and spacious due to its large windows, high ceilings and clever decorating scheme. An intriguing visual effect is achieved by contrasting gray tones on the furniture and kitchen appliances with the white walls.

Large quotes spread throughout the living room lighten the atmosphere and add personality to the space. With a raw, genuine look, the kitchen is the focal part of the social area. However, the designer did a great job softening its sober feel; jars of goodies here, a friendly blackboard there and some working tools in wood make for well needed homey touches. The bedroom is particularly interesting with its breezy ambiance and highly interesting lighting. Would you personally describe this apartment as “welcoming”?

A new wooden house can invoke the fascination of rural life while compacting all the necessities of a modern family life within a sequence of spaces. Living in the city often means dreaming about a swimming pool and poolside terrace where the sunny seasons are sprinkled with happiness and precious family and friends time. And when the building you call home displays a contemporary appeal from the front and offers privacy in the back, then it’s definitely a dream home. Occupying a total of 170 square meters, this House in Colmar, France was imagined by ideaa architectures as a breath of fresh design within a former district of farmers in this picturesque town in north-eastern France.

Photographed by Alain-Marc Oberlé, the L-shaped floor plan was perfect for creating a patio sheltering this family’s private life from indiscreet eyes. Opening on to a terrace, social areas define a lifestyle in connection to the great outdoors, integrating different activities within this inviting indoor/outdoor living space. By closing the North and the East facades, architects created a cluster of interior spaces guiding natural light inside and benefiting from extended periods of sunshine. The new wooden house has all living areas pointed to the garden, inviting each inhabitant to enjoy fresh air and modern amenities.

Even the technologies we have come to expect from modern homes are integrated in this family residence. According to the architects, “the energy performances are about 30 % superior to the expectations of the current thermal regulations. The house is built in skeleton wood and use renewable energies for the heating and to the insulation.”

Chip and Joanna from Magnolia Homes shared photos of their home with readers worldwide, which is how we found out about this enchanting farmhouse in Texas, United States. After moving from one dwelling to another, the couple decided on settling down and building their dream crib. They purchased a wrecked farmhouse and spent a year and a half renovating it: “My main priority was to open up the main living, dining, and kitchen area. We also finished out the upstairs and created a nice size family room, a guest bedroom and craft room. It took several months to get all my ideas on paper because there was a lot of reconfiguring to do to make the space work for our family of six“, explained owner Joanna Gaines.

The owners salvaged everything they could from the existing farmhouse on site: “Since we added on our master bedroom I used the flooring in the attic for my floors and I also incorporated old doors so the space felt like the rest of the house. I had the best time looking for older fixtures and doors to use and we salvaged all the existing trim and molding to preserve the timeless look of this home“. The color palette include whites and soft neutral tones, which gives the place a harmonious, peaceful atmosphere. What are the decorating elements you find most intriguing?

How do you choose your 3 bedroom apartment design? Maybe you fell in love with the modern Scandinavian style and that’s exactly why this apartment will inspire you. Beautifully distributed, the interior spaces of this Denmark penthouse apartment convey a feeling of home. Enhanced by light coming from attic windows, the calming Scandinavian design reigns all over. Luminous social spaces include the living room and dining area separated by a bio-ethanol fireplace and a cooking zone tucked beyond the dining table, under a slanted wall.

This penthouse apartment seen on Dan Bolig induces a sense of belonging and floating. A felt ball rug decorates the living area where a cozy sofa and window seat invite to relaxation and reading. Responsible for defining the areas, furniture and decorative elements have an important role in creating a familiar space. Perfect for serving buffet meals, the elegant C1 Credenza designed by Marcus Friesl from mf design group is a statement furniture piece for modern decors. According to the official description from the designer, the unit uses a thin folded metal shell to support both upper and lower drawers. Additionally, an embedded structural system in the drawer units allows the C1 to “span the full seven feet without intermediate support, and to float elegantly in space. The resulting design is a technically precise modern form, embodied with warmth and character”.

Ingeniously camouflaged, the drawers offer plenty of storage space for modern dining areas. The slick, minimalist design seems to visually reduce its impressive scale. The C1 Credenza is built in Canada with the care of time-honored craftsmanship combined with innovative technology to create a superior fit and finish.
