Displaying an imposing contemporary silhouette, Lake LBJ Retreat was planned and implemented by Dick Clark + Associates near Marble Falls, Texas. Located on a peninsula that served as a private fish camp since the second half of the 20th century, the site had an instant appeal to the owners, who decided to build their dream crib here. According to the architects, “wind patterns and the existing tree canopy were crucial influences on the project's design development. Exterior circulation paths and separate living spaces encourage a connection with the outdoors. Project materials include cast in place concrete, ipe siding and Rheinzink metal siding”. The interiors are stylish and welcoming, with wood playing a major part in the overall design scheme. The living room is generously-sized and quite spectacular with its floor-to-ceiling windows revealing extensive lake views. A large kitchen island offers plenty of space for several people to cook together. The massive interiors, abundance of seating units and outdoor terraces give away the feeling of space; it’s as if this home is opened for guests 24/7. The creative team at BDA Architecture envisioned and implemented a massive two-level house on a prominent north facing Nerang River site. Dubbed Riverfront Residence, the new structure in Broadbeach Waters, Queensland, Australia responded to the client's brief by providing a resort style-home with “louvre screens, a variety of natural materials, quality landscaping and various external works”. Wide overhangs offer protection for the generously-sized entertainment area below, while at the same time contributing to an original building design.

An optimum indoor-outdoor connection was one of the major aspects to consider when planning this project. As you can see in the photos below, there is an interplay between open and private spaces, achieved through large glass windows, terraces and decks. Step inside, and you will be greeted by a double-size open plan living and dining area “flanked” by both the terrace and an inner courtyard. G7 Apartment in Hong Kong Revealing Peaceful Warm Hues Throughout

Located in Hilltop Mansion, Braemar Hill, Hong Kong, this home was originally a two-bedroom one. G7 Apartment by Fixonic is the result of a contemporary make-over, aiming at a mores suitable layout for the living needs of the owner. According to the architects, the remodeling process began with moving the living room and study area to the larger side of the apartment, which has better open views through the windows and is closer to the kitchen. A guest bathroom was created near the entrance area using cultured limestone as a feature wall and a mirror wall to extend the space of the dining area.
A sliding frosted glass door separates the bedroom from the other areas of the apartment; this ensures privacy and lets enough light into the entrance zone. Inside the main bedroom there is a walk-in changing room with plenty of storage space for clothes and other personal items. Throughout the apartment, the designers used straight grain Oliver Ash timber on the walls and flooring, which gives a warm feeling flowing continuously between the living areas.
