With an exterior inspiring holiday vibes, Agua House by Barrionuevo Sierchuk Arquitectas is probably one of the most serene modern home designs in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. According to the architects, the residence has a total surface of 450 square meters (4,840 square feet) and was built for a couple without kids. The ground floor program includes impressive reception areas, that open and close through wooden sliding doors which can be hidden into the walls.
The color palette for the interior was chosen in close relationship to the two stone walls (made of Laja Neuquen) which interact with most of the rooms in the house. Floor to ceiling glass doors and large windows at the second level allow unobstructed views of the neighboring Canal Arias river. The swimming pool spectacularly mirrors light changes throughout the evening and adds a sense of dynamics to the entire architectural scene. | Expensive 5-Room Villa Executed To Perfection in Gothenburg, Sweden Posted: 20 Mar 2013 01:09 AM PDT
From a range of selected materials, this 5-room villa in Hovås, one of the finest districts in Gothernburg, Sweden is a fine example of stylish and precious design. The villa was built of very expensive materials and everything, starting with the façade and ending up with the cozy interior were executed to perfection. A large spectrum of neutral colours embellish the interior: form different shades of browns, to greys and white, the interior expresses luminosity. Despite the “cold” neutral colours, the living room and the kitchen (which form one single big room) have a warm and cozy appearance, thanks to the stunning authentic fireplace and the cozy fuzzy carpets, laid on the floors.
The 5-room villa is like a shelter dedicated to your senses, enhancing the feeling of relaxation. The terrace captures wonderful views over the woods, recharging you with energy when needed. There’s nothing sophisticated expect the simplicity itself. You can find more about this spectacular Hovås villa on the Skeppsholmen‘s official website. The villa is currently for sale!

| An Eastern Teak Paradise Enclave in the Bahamas: Nandana Resort Posted: 19 Mar 2013 12:59 PM PDT
Designed by de Reus Architects in the style of an Asian beach resort and set within an exclusive, gated enclave at the far West End of Grand Bahama island, the oceanfront Nandana is composed of five Villa Suites located around a central Main Hall. All of the buildings are constructed from natural materials with limestone covered exteriors, copper roofs and – most importantly – massive amounts of yacht quality Burmese teak used on the interior floors, walls and ceilings as well as much of the exterior.
The numerous decks which surround each villa, the Main Hall and the 120 ft. infinity edge pool are also constructed from teak , much of which was reclaimed from decommissioned sailing vessels which had previously operated in Asia. The dock area is also constructed with teak decking and contains three slips capable of accommodating yachts up to 110 feet (larger vessels can be berthed at an adjacent marina). The extensive teak work at the resort was done by Teak Solutions, a company which sent 20 of its ship carpenters from Germany to the Bahamas to build Nandana. The project team lived on site for two years. More than 300 teak logs languishing in Burma and containers of reclaimed teak from sailing vessels, were purchased by Teak Solutions, transported to India where they were milled and then shipped to the resort site in the Bahamas. | Modern Meets Rustic Revealing a Special Eclectic Décor Posted: 19 Mar 2013 10:37 AM PDT
Located in Eugene, Oregon, the 1151 Crenshaw residence is a wonderful way to express a unique blend of styles. By mixing rustic elements with modern design lines, Jordan Iverson Signature Homes studio has done a wonderful job in defining an eclectic style for this particular home. The house accommodates three outdoor decks overlooking endless views and a roof terrace, for evenings filled with tranquility. One can admire the sun at dusk and watch how the entire world gently enters a different state of mind on the field of dreams. The 1151 Crenshaw is a comfortable living space, with brilliant view and exquisite cedar furniture.
A fusion of tradition and contemporary aims to create a unique atmosphere. Cozy and warm, the interior is flooded by the fireplace’s warm light and the cedar flooring. The serene sunlight strikes right into the master bedroom’s windows, without being too edgy. It’s like the gentle touch of spring tickles your mornings, no matter the season. An open flame (surrounded by glass) represents the core of the living room. Lights hang from the ceiling, remind us of that enchanting Scandinavian atmosphere. The 1151 residence is a fine example that steel and wood (eventually) work well together (just take a look at the façade). How do you find this eclectic concept?
