Infused With White Sand Beaches And Turquoise Waters: Constance Halaveli Resort Posted: 16 Jul 2012 06:33 AM PDT Constance Halaveli Resort is more than a luxurious retreat – it’s a six-star Maldivian Paradise captured in between blue waters of the Indian Ocean. This is one of Maldives' North Ari atoll getaways where pure white sand beaches meet turquoise waters in an unforgettable scene. Sun terraces and plunge pools, an overwhelming connection to wild nature and comfortable villas create a mixture of natural and man-made in perfect balance. Enjoying a relaxing experience at Spa de Constance and walks around the island go hand in hand, proving once again that the two experiences collaborate successfully to sooth the mind, body and soul. Family villas introduce children to the wonders of the Maldivian paradise and the Kuda children’s club keeps them entertained while parents experience romantic getaways. Three restaurants and two bars ensure guests have dining and socializing experiences infused with the island’s paradise-like atmosphere. Seafood specialties, alongside Asian inspired cuisine with European accents compose a palette of tastes and smells focusing on providing a new and exciting dining experience. Advertising Agency Name Inspires Creative Design Concept: WHITE CANVAS Offices Posted: 16 Jul 2012 03:51 AM PDT You may remember the creative office design inspired by aircrafts, which we presented on Freshome a while back here. We received photos of another interesting project envisioned by Kamat & Rozario Architecture and consisting of a modern office space for an advertising agency in Bangalore, India. According to the press release we were sent, the design took inspiration from the firm's name – WHITE CANVAS: “A blank white canvas takes on the personality of the artist.. We drew an analogy to Absolut Vodka's Absolut Blank Campaign, where artists were invited to express themselves on a blank canvas in the shape of the iconic Absolut bottle. The clean white canvas takes on different Avatars depending on the artists' imagination. The requirement of the client included a number of closed rooms for meeting/ discussion/ideating etc. These closed spaces or 'containers' were envisaged to be the Absolut bottle. The infill wall for each container defines its character. Thus, each container has its own personality depending upon its user and program. Waste pieces of block-board, generated from all the carpentry done at site were used to create a surface and left unfinished. The containers were placed in the center of the floor so that light and air from the windows stayed unhindered. Work areas happened along the periphery of the space. Areas between the containers served as informal breakout spaces”. Splendid Entertaining Opportunities In This Luxurious Californian Mansion Posted: 16 Jul 2012 01:54 AM PDT This modern luxury residence located at 1060 Woodland Drive in Beverly Hills, California, strikes with its geometry displayed both outside and inside. Take a look at the pool, for example – its shape follows the contours of both the dining volume and the white garden wall, giving the impression of slashing through the landscape. Located at the end of a gated driveway, the 5,868 square feet house was designed to be part of its surroundings, marking the need for a secluded modern lifestyle. Welcoming its owners and their guests with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, the modern Californian mansion boasts porcelain tile and Brazilian walnut floors. A luxurious Gaggenau kitchen with Carrara countertops and stainless steel appliances opens out to the rest of the first floor plan, constructing a column-defined open interior. The dining space is lined with vertical openings and a dark-framed glass wall offers views of the pool. A 24-foot concrete fireplace thrones in the main living space, while a Walnut Burl bar on the opposite side exposes the owner’s love for entertaining. The guest bedroom you can see in the photos below seems to be a little crowded, but the main bedroom makes up for this with a stunning display of furniture embedded in the design. Here, wooden floors descend into a duet of steps, following the contours of the bed and complementing the use of ebony Macassar wood. If you’re convinced this is your dream home, then you get in touch with The Agency, who have this residence listed for $6,995,000. Exquisite Volcanic Rock Pendant Lamp For Modern Spaces [Video] Posted: 16 Jul 2012 12:38 AM PDT Handmade from natural stone, this strikingly simple pendant light captures the beautiful features of grey volcanic rock. Named after Japan’s largest active volcano – Mount Aso – the basalt lava pendant lamp keeps its original grey color captured in a timeless shape. The Aso San basalt lava pendant lamp was imagined by German designer Daniel Stoller and hand-chiseled until the final shape was obtained. The opulence of this splendid material was imprinted on the works of the artist, capturing a moment in time when lava formed that exact pattern displayed by each piece of light. Check out how it’s made from a basalt lava block – just scroll to the end of this post and you will see how natural material is manipulated to be suited for modern living environments. Although it looks heavy and imposing, the lamp seen on StilSucht is actually quite lightweight and successfully adorns a contemporary space.
