Light, romantic and positive, this lovely apartment is located in an area in Sweden called Bakers Farm and characterized by the classic charm of the 20th. Spotted on Lundin.se, the crib stands out due to elegance and good taste. The core of the apartment is a living room, cleverly painted in white, in order to increase the feeling of space. The living and dining area is maximized and the interior gives an overall impression of freshness. Purple drapes frame the window and add a bold color to the otherwise neutral palette. The kitchen may be small, but it is all-equipped and has plenty of room for two people cooking together and for a breakfast table. The most inviting part of the crib is probably the bedroom, featuring a king-size bed and hidden storage units. See any other details you consider worth a second look?

Raw Materials And Brilliant Textures Displayed In Loft 24-7

Loft 24 7 by Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados 1 Raw Materials And Brilliant Textures Displayed In Loft 24 7

There is not a residential structure of Sao Paulo-based studio Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados I do not appreciate. Remember the Malibu Residence‘s metal, glass and vividly colored decorations and astounding indoor pool? Or the way the infinity pool stretches from the wooden deck over crude green grass towards the ocean on the Laranjeiras property? Well, today we show you a splendid loft occupying 180 square meters of modern interior space strongly connected to nature and decks connecting the different zones. Captured in between rough stone walls and limestone floors, a steel structure supports glass walls that capture natural light that bounces off textured design elements. Raw materials were combined with sophisticated shapes to create a stunning residence named Loft 24-7. Definitely a long-term commitment is needed for this inspiring space.

Hovering Roof Defining Contemporary Single-Level Home: Injidup Residence

Wright Feldhusen Architects completed the design of an intriguing looking project entitled Injidup Residence  and located in Yallingup, Australia. Due to site restrictions- it is forbidden for the buildings in the area to exceed four meters in height- the architects came up with a plan for a practical single-level residence. As for the structure of this beach family crib, here is some information from the project developers: “The house is devised as two intimate rammed earth sleeping wings that meet at the glazed pavilion that is the main living area. The roof hovers over this area and folds down to the western horizon to proved afternoon sun protection. The main external living areas are focused on the North East courtyard, with borrowed views of the ocean through the glazed living area.” All the materials used in the construction process were adapted to the marine environment: copper cladding and rammed walls are just some of the measures applied to ensure the durability of the building. Street Art At Its Best In Poland : Escif’s On/Off Switch Mural

On Off Switch Mural by Escif 1 Street Art At Its Best In Poland : Escifs On/Off Switch Mural

Walking around our streets, we can see how those choosing to put their creativity out there decided to express and paint how they see the world around us. During Poland’s Katowice Street Art Festival that took place between 20-29 April 2012, a handful of street artists joined forces to recreate the city’s face. One in particular chose to compose a huge On/Off Switch Mural on the side of an apartment building. Valencia-based street artist Escif captures social attention with his prominent works. His On/Off Switch Mural set on the streets so that passers-by can relate to it in size, colors (or the lack of colors) and the surrounding urban landscape creates an impressive first impression. Good thing we spotted the project on MyModernMet – it has the power to make us think beyond the concept and see the formerly heavy industry city being transformed not only by architecture and developments, but also by art.

Home Resembling a Wooden Vessel in Norway: Villa Storingavika

Villa Storingavika 3 Home Resembling a Wooden Vessel in Norway: Villa Storingavika

Villa Storingavika was designed by Bergen-based studio Saunders Architecture and is located in the outskirts of Bergen, Norway. Especially developed for a family with two children, the villa overlooks breathtaking fjords and a stretch of Norway's west coast archipelago and answers its inhabitants needs for peaceful and comfortable living. According to the architects,“Villa Storingavika is a textbook example of a regional modernism, combining the modern gesture of wide spanning platforms of space with the traditional forms and materials of Bergen's light-framed timber houses. The building's proportions are also akin to Bergen's maritime architecture and its long history of two-storey timber buildings. Translating this established building approach to a restrained, contemporary volume links the house to its context, and ties it indelibly to the site”. The overall impression one gets when looking at this residence (and its striking natural environment) is that of timber vessel, offering unobstructed views of the coastline.
