Original Shelving Units – Hole In The Floor Posted: 22 Feb 2012 01:40 PM PST Original furniture makes any interior alive and bright. These are ingenious shelving units called Hole in the Floor by Raw Edges design studio. The shelves are based on the idea of unusual unexpected ending; and so they resemble vertical drawers which were literally sliced at the bottom. The idea is not only impressive but also simple and elegant. The shelves come in a variety of sizes and can be used in both traditional and modern interiors. Such a piece would look nice not only in your living room but also in any kids' room because kids usually love such funny things. ![]() ![]() Similar Posts: Continue reading about Original Shelving Units – Hole In The Floor...
Futuristic And Industrial Table Collection With Mechanisms Posted: 22 Feb 2012 10:40 AM PST Industrial design is very fashionable today but we usually imagine such things as something rough and manly. But this collection by Roch Bobois is exquisite and exclusive, it looks like no other – a mix of industrial and futuristic style. It's a collection of dining and coffee tables called Astrolab with a glass top that opnely displays for all to see is the intricate retro-futuristic cog and pulley mechanism that drives the opening and closing of the Astrolab extension leaves. The mechanism becomes the most important and beautiful decoration of the table. Gentle, geometric, high tech and aesthetic – isn't that an awesome mix for a piece? ![]() ![]() Similar Posts: Continue reading about Futuristic And Industrial Table Collection With Mechanisms...
Charming Mountain Retreat Without Electricity Or Telephone Posted: 22 Feb 2012 06:40 AM PST This mountain retreat was restored from a rustic shepherd’s hut, once used to make cheese. The hut is located in Cantal’s volcanic Central Massif region, France. Austrian Frederick Pfeffer restored the place with the help of local craftsmen and artisans using simple and natural materials. The atmosphere is very romantic and old-fashioned: absence of electricity, a wood fired stove keeps the place warm and candles are used for lighting at night. Benches made by local craftsmen feature felt coverings strapped on with leather ties. Simple handmade wood furnishings and horsehair cushions that double as beds if needed. The kitchen and shower are located downstairs. Water is sourced from a nearby spring. I can't imagine a place that would be further away from civilization and more charming at the same time. ![]() ![]() Similar Posts: Continue reading about Charming Mountain Retreat Without Electricity Or Telephone...
