Surrealistic Furniture Inspired By Chinese Hieroglyphs Posted: 03 Feb 2012 03:25 PM PST Shao Fan is a designer who managed to mix traditional Chinese art and modern design in his furniture collection, he calls it reconstructive furniture. His chair collection has elements of furniture Min dynasty with modern aesthetics in clear geometric lines. The complicated shape of some of them imitates Chinese hieroglyphs. His furniture looks surrealistic: combinations of thick glass and vintage wood, old rough wood and modern sleek surfaces, crazy shapes and mixes of materials. The author says that it's fundamental harmony and equity of man and nature. This furniture looks more like installations than like usual pieces of interior. I'd never say that a minimalist kitchen could be cozy but here's a minimalist space that looks alive and very cozy. The furniture is minimalist, made of wood.
