Euryalus Street House is a contemporary project recently completed by Australian studio Luigi Rosselli Architects. The impressive residence is located in Mosman, a suburb on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. Here is a description from the architects: The plan of this house has two distinct wings and a narrow connection between the two. The connection contains a transparent stainless steel and glass stair suspended over an inside/outside pond and is washed by abundant light from a skylight above. The larger wing is rectangular and rationally planned, the shorter wing is the more irregularly shaped curved section of the house. The front and rear facades are well mannered and integrate the garage and pool seamlessly, having a positive impact to its neighborhood. With its northerly elevated location, it takes advantage of the cooling north easterly breezes, and good solar access. The house is not air-conditioned and is designed to keep cool in summer with ample shutter-controlled natural lighting and ventilation, and has two substantial rainwater tanks for irrigation, toilet cisterns and pool top-up use.” Have a look at the plans of the house in the last two photos for details and let us know if you’re impressed.

Small properties can eventually become the perfect place to call home. Displaying nothing but modernity in both architecture and style, the Wrap House located in the East End of Aspen fascinates with a simple and bold interior design. Part of a Historic Lot Split, the residence had to comply with some strict regulations, being “required to 'respond' to its immediate Swiss-Style neighbor in its massing, proportions and materials“. The three-story house displays a playful mix of building materials that allows the shape to visually connect to its surroundings. A floating staircase connects the three floors, but it also cares to the needs for natural lighting – it “serves as a light shaft to the lower level with its open detailing and light. The public upper level is wrapped by a large walkway serving two decks and there is a spiral staircase from the rear deck that accesses the rooftop terrace. This walkway provides privacy for the house and acts as a roof for the entry into the house.” All these details were provided by the architects, Aspen-based Studio B Architects. Enjoy the photos!

How splendid would life be if we could enjoy our surroundings from our own modern backyards and terraces, in an effort to change the way we feel about indoor-outdoor spaces? Some architects express this need for connectivity through their design. Covering 250 square meters, the Creuse House was designed by Bruxelles-based M Architecture. To obtain such a modern and elegant architecture, the designers had to renovate and extend the existing residential building. Their efforts resulted in a fabulous project, where interior and exterior merge to create a comfortable, modern lifestyle. Each of the three floors display different ways of connecting to the back garden: the first floor has a corner sliding door system, the second floor opens through simple facade-mounted sliding door, while the last floor has two different-sized windows that bring fresh air in. We found this Scandinavian apartment that is quite different from the Swedish cribs we usually publish. With a total living area of 185 square meters, consisting of four rooms plus kitchen, you could say this crib is addressed to those used to an opulent style. The core of the loft is an open plan living room, designed in a highly contemporary manner. The white lacquer finishes make this place literally shine. The socializing zone includes a sofa, dining able and kitchen island. Splashes of color appear here and there, for creating interesting visual contrasts. A silver stag is the most striking decorating item from all the room and seems to be a statement of the luxury this home implies. The loft also features an indoor pool and a beautiful terrace for relaxation. Does the overall design of this apartment appeal to you?
