| Astounding Modern Glass House: Catskill Mountain House Posted: 26 Sep 2011 06:54 AM PDT
Audrey Matlock Architects created an astounding modern design featuring an omnipresent contemporary lifestyle. The Catskill Mountain House, as it was named, transcends the idea of a family home – it is a transparent panoramic deck with extremely beautiful panoramic views. Knowledge, technology and dedication were the architects’ main tools in building this residence – the materials, on the other hand, were carefully chosen to be as personalized as possible, enhancing and enriching the living experience. The surrounding terrain is a rocky area, meaning that the architects were given the opportunity of cutting into the rock to build the extremely comfortable residence. The 3,700 square meters modern residence features extensive glass walls that visually bring the nature inside. The simple geometry of the structure emphasizes the strength of the indoor-outdoor connection, creating a liberating atmosphere. This fantastic glass house is closer to dream than reality, don’t you think?

| Small Loft Featuring Bright, Vividly Colored Spaces Posted: 26 Sep 2011 05:42 AM PDT
Even a small loft can become a candidate for a perfect dream home. This next residential space is an example of how great partitioning and vividly bright spaces adorned with colors and patterns can transform a boring space into a youthful, elegant loft. Occupying 58 square meters, this apartment displays functional spaces divided on two floors. The first floor shelters the main living spaces – kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom, while the second floor is occupied by the bedroom. The elongated structure of the apartment allowed the living spaces to be united by a stylish spiral staircase. Found on Homedit, the beautiful small apartment seems larger due to the height of the ceilings. This also allowed the space to be configured the way it is – with a mezzanine sheltering the private quarters, where relaxation and joy is enhanced by a feeling of fairytale design.

| Modern Home in Brazil Displaying Unique Architecture Details: House 6 Posted: 26 Sep 2011 04:30 AM PDT
House 6 was designed by Brazilian architect Marcio Koga and is located in São Paulo, Brazil. With an impressive architecture, the residence was especially designed for a family who wanted their home to be “covered” on the exterior. Here is a description from the project developers: “In the House 6 project, the idea of the veranda has been reinvented. The veranda of House 6, nonetheless, still remains an open space and, simultaneously, opens to the garden and the pool. It is a living room, a TV room and an extension of the internal kitchen. This space, then, structured the entire architecture of the house, organized in two transversal volumes and an annex in the back that holds a home office. The lower volume houses the utilities, the kitchen and the living room with door-frames that can be recessed into the walls, and thereby entirely opening the internal space to either side. This sets the cross-ventilation and an unfettered contiguous view of the garden. The upper volume has the private area of the house with the bedrooms and, on the third floor there is a small multiple-use living room alongside an upper deck. How do you appreciate the design of this contemporary home?

| Light and Airy Stockholm Apartment with Quiet Surroundings Posted: 26 Sep 2011 01:37 AM PDT
This simple and cozy Stockholm apartment shows how a simple floor plan can become more than just a house, it becomes a home. The two-room apartment in the heart of Stockholm is a simple and elegant space for those seeking peace and quiet. The spacious living room offers many interior design opportunities, while the other rooms await personalized touches as well. Occupying the first of four floors of a 1928 building, the apartment displays an uncomplicated space arrangement. It offers plenty of storage in the hall in the built-in wardrobes with sliding doors, beautifully decorated with mirrors that visually enlarge the space. Dark tiles in the hallway create a glamorous atmosphere. The North-facing master bedroom features a walk-in-closet with plenty of storage space while the white painted pine floors, brightly papered walls and natural light from the large paned windows provide a pleasant light and airy impression. The bathroom presents an elegant, modern design, with glass shower doors and dark anthracite tiling. The bathroom door features a glass handle that glows in red when busy, so that is an interesting touch. Like it?
