| A Fun Way to Customize Your Flower Arrangements: Wig Posted: 29 Jun 2011 05:55 AM PDT
Here is a post for all of you out there that love gardening and constantly enjoy experiencing new flower decorating ideas. Designer Tania da Cruz figured there was more to wig supports than commonly thought. Consequently, she designed a system that can feed plants and grow them on the exterior of the wig support. Here is a small description from the designer: “Ironic, fun and fresh! Wig is a ceramic white vase whose delicate feminine features evoke Modiglianesque shapes and silhouettes. Wig allows users to experiment and create delightful floral hairdos. By transforming the nature of its setting and surroundings and stealing a smile from those passing by, Wig feels destined to draw attention.” We are curious to read your feedback about this idea. Does it look like something you would like to have in your home or garden?

| Mood Rocking Bed for Welcoming Summer Indoors Posted: 29 Jun 2011 03:34 AM PDT
Here is a design that inspires tranquility and comfort. The mood rocking bed was designed by Joe Manus from Shiner International and is suited for both indoors and outdoors. Don’t let its design fool you. This rocking bed can be used for sweet rocking meditation time or as a steady unit with the help of rubber stoppers, at an inclination the user feels more comfortable with. But the product is not just easily adaptable to your mood, but also to your overall interior design. According to the producers, the carbon steel frame can be blackened, brushed (or replaced with wood), for a harmonious integration within various contemporary decors. The Mood Rocking Bed is available in Twin, Full, King and Queen sizes and the costs for a Queen- sized model, with carbon steel frame or wood base finish is $ 2995. A bit over the top, we believe, even though the bed truly rocks. How do you find it?

| Beach Retreat in Australia Set Among Native Eucalypti Posted: 29 Jun 2011 02:12 AM PDT
Here is a contemporary retreat that is sure to stir up your holiday plans. Pretty Beach House is located in Australia, just north of Sydney, in a beautiful natural environment, amongst the trees at the edge of a delightful beach. Consisting of a main home and three surrounding pavilions, each hosting one bedroom, the all-inclusive retreat is a place that inspires complete relaxation. Here are more details from the official website: “The property is set high on the escarpment above Pretty Beach and nestled into the Bouddi National Park. Guests are offered privacy with around-the-clock service. The pavilions Treetops, Bayview and Hideaway have views through a mass of ancient angophoras and native eucalypti down onto the sparkling Brisbane Waters. The décor is simple and strong, with tub chairs in vintage leather, 1930's travel trunks, hand crafted tables and fine Belgium linen. Local artists have taken advantage of the fallen angophora branches and created sculptures that feature throughout.” We don’t know about you guys, but for us the inspiration given by this retreat far exceeds the field of design.

| Fresh Plant Pods, an Idea for Invigorating Your Apartment Posted: 28 Jun 2011 11:43 PM PDT
We know living in crowded urban areas can trigger the need for turning your apartment into a miniature garden. Here is why we decided to showcase an interesting idea that can help you display flower arrangements with style. These Plant Pods were envisioned by designer Domenic Fiorello and have a unique appearance. “After researching the care needed for succulent plants, I designed this pod-like planter to be created on a CNC router. They hang vertically to display all the different views that can potentially be seen in an individual pod”- explains the project developer. Besides dusting, we don’t see any other drawback to this design. On the contrary, we believe the pods have a very elegant and original appearance, adding charm and contributing to a fresh atmosphere. Moreover, their modern look makes them easy to integrate in a variety of contemporary interiors. How do you find them?
