| Practical Cable Hiding Solution for Uncluttered Interiors Posted: 31 Jan 2011 07:05 AM PST Sooner or later, every home owner finds himself in dire need of a cable hiding mechanism. We presented quite a few here on Freshome, and yet we are pleasantly surprised to see more an more similar practical design ideas. Plug Hub is a clever power strip organizer presented at Unplggd which can conceal unwanted wires behind the working desk while also keeping them untangled. Made from rigid plastic and featuring a rubber "foot" on the bottom, the device can be either placed on the floor or mounted on a wall or even on the back of the working table top. Keeping the power strings separate will not be a problem, as Plug Hub comes equipped with three openings for directing the wires and three integrated cord anchors. Looks simple enough to keep things in order, don’t you agree?

| Sound System and Cofee Table Combined: Acoustable Posted: 30 Jan 2011 11:51 PM PST The original Acoustable comes from Belgian designers Jérôme Spriet and Wolfgang Bregentzer and combines the functionality of a coffee table with the beats of a quality sound system. According to designboom, the unusual table consists of a base shell and a top surface with a foam core between the two. Here is more from the designers: The coffee table at the centre of the room becomes the sound system and the power terminal. There are no visible technical elements, only the player and a remote which can both be stored in a built in pocket. Acoustable is made from a polymer and mineral blend that combines the advantages of stone and plastic. Its shape follows the natural curves of an elastic membrane which, like its sound, fills the space suggestively. The project measures 120 cm in diameter and a height of 50 cm, which makes it perfect for an uncommon work table. For more information, you can contact the producers here.
