How to Bring Masculine Details into your Home Posted: 12 Nov 2010 02:48 AM PST One of the challenges of decorating your home is to keep it feeling personalized and unique. While masculine details can refer to men oriented details, they can also refer to strong geometrics, rich color, and absence of ornate detailing. Masculine details in a home can appeal to both genders and can be used in any room of your home. If you like décor that has a rustic side or a clean and modern appeal, masculine details are for you. Follow these tips to bring them into your home.
Your home can include masculine details that give your home visual interest and a strong personality. Splendid Home with Undulating Walls and Amazing Layout Posted: 12 Nov 2010 01:26 AM PST Blairgowrie Court Residence is much more than a beautifully shaped home that challenges visual and spatial perspectives. Constructed in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton, The Blairgowrie Court Residence is a wonderful home, complete with an amazing lap pool and heavily vegetated water gardens. A deck in the backyard allows relaxation and meditation – the deck seems to be floating over the water garden, offering enough peace of mind to keep you coming back for more. The view of the bay from the office is an oasis of relaxation much needed during stressful times. Australian architect Frank Macchia combined curved elements with rectangular volumes and created a rippling effect on the front facade of the house. Two taller walls give a different perspective on the house, especially by having been created with contrasting constructing materials, for a unique effect. Inside, the ripple effect can be seen where the interior meets the exterior, creating an undulating line that connects the two spaces. For the most part, the interior has straight lines, adding to the contemporary feel of the house. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms offer that feeeling of home, while the living area becomes the perfect setting for entertaining guests. Wood and glass, stone and concrete, all the materials used to build this house are in perfect harmony with each other. Chocolate walls are diluted by natural light coming through the huge sliding doors. Every angle of the house dominates through it`s superior design and a gorgeous detail in the bathroom accelerates the desire to have the same thing at home: the bathtub pierces the wall in the master bathroom, allowing an interesting view while bathing. Every corner and every piece of furniture fits perfectly in this home – thanks to designer Franck Macchia.

Elegant, Simple and Functional Design: “Triomphe” Plywood Table Posted: 11 Nov 2010 11:39 PM PST Sometimes all it takes to create a functional design is a positive attitude, creativity and glue. At least this is the case with the “Triomphe” table designed by USIN-e in collaboration with the French company Jerhome. With strong legs and an interestingly curved tabletop, the product has an intriguing appearance, suited for a traditional dining room, as well as for a familiar and cozy outdoor arrangement. The “construction” process required a minimum of effort, as the elements were developed to combine in ingenious ways. There were no nails necessary to join the pieces together, just a relatively small amount of glue. The overall result is a strong dining table, with a unique look. We are looking forward to seeing a pair of chairs to go with this design.- via Daily Tonic

Delightful Two Room Apartment Filled with Light Posted: 11 Nov 2010 11:00 AM PST Here is a charming looking two room loft that is sure to bring on inspiration to those in need of decorating ideas. This beautiful crib has a total surface of 71 square meters and consists of a living zone, bedroom, a generous hallway, kitchen, bathroom and terrace. The living room has an original arrangement, as it is both a “lounge” area and a working space. With two sofas placed in front of one another at a relatively small distance, there is plenty of space left for a home office for two. Connected to the living room, there is a cozy and elegant bedroom, perfect for relaxation. We particularly like the reading corner with the funny old looking armchair. The kitchen is highly modern and equipped with various cabinets which provides plenty of storage options. The whole apartment exudes a pleasant atmosphere thanks to the large windows that let in plenty of light. What details do you find appealing?
