An armchair presented on DesignTide Tokyo 2010 by Daisuke Motogi Architecture studio is a great example of this creativity. It solves the main problem living rooms all around the world. The armchair helps to avoid losing such things as TV remotes, books you’re currently reading, cell phones between the sofa cushions or somewhere in the room. Items can be stored in slots between upholstered cubes that form the armchair. Beisdes one of such slots could even become a vase for flowers or a cup holder. Creative and practical furniture is all what Japanese designers are about.

Black and White House With Front And Rear Facades of Glass

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 05:38 AM PST

House 60 is a renovation of a 50′s suburban house on a large site in Toronto, Canada. It’s done by gh3 studio in a completely modern style. The black and white color theme was chosen as for interior as for exterior. Small windows and low ceilings were made opposite. The traditional public area with separate rooms was combined into a spacious open space. To the front and to the rear were made additions that become new facades of the house. These additions are mostly done in glass that allows natural light to fill the interior and to catch views of nature from the inside of the house. Besides during the renovation a lot of improvements that reduced the energy requirements were also made. The house was also made safe for children even though it has all features of modern and minimalist design.
