Two-Level Apartment With Minimal Doors and Walls Posted: 06 Nov 2010 07:53 AM PDT Cubby House is a two-level apartment overlooking a public swimming pool in Fitzroy, Melbourne, designed by Edwards Moore. The whole concept was to create a continuous space for living rather than regularly divided rooms and floors. As a result the apartment features minimal doors and walls, and there are a lot of reflective surfaces. The lower level features a kitchen, a large storage for books and a semi-enclosed balcony that performs as part of the living space. The upper level consists of private spaces like master’s bedroom and bathroom. Besides there is a guest bedroom space that also acts as a small study. The natural palette was chosen for the interior to create a feeling of comfort. Reclaimed limed timber, OSB, sisal, vic ash and white concrete floor look very good together.
